Deneb Sector (Imperial Coordinates -3/1) is located Spinward of Corridor and Coreward of Reft sectors.

Description (Specifications)

Deneb is an area of great significance. As the major thoroughfare from the Imperial Core to the Spinward Marches Sector and the rest of the frontier, it sees a large amount of traffic in both directions. Containing the advance defenses of the realm (after the Marches, of course), it has not seen a major war itself in its entire history (not counting the Civil War -- see Denebian Bad War). Home to one of the brightest stars in the galaxy, it is an area of wonder, beauty, travel, and fortune. It is also politically charged, with the dukes of Deneb known for their squabbling and scheming.

    • Kirissukyoya: Common spacefarers, integrated into Imperial culture.
    • Lurent: Wandering planetoid ships are found throughout the sector and beyond, often (in the case of sublight versions) serving as useful Jump Bridges for years at a time.
    • Marzian
    • Nenlat: While many live traditional lives in their homeworld's wetlands, many others have integrated fully into Imperial culture. They can be found across the sector.
    • Sigka: Concentrated at their homeworld, but with a massive population and some political influence.
    • Souggvuez: That rarity of a minor race in Vargr territory who have successfully integrated as social equals.
    • Yafizethe: A relativity small population, but much in demand for diplomatic skills.

History & Background (Dossier)

Deneb was not seriously settled by either the Vilani Ziru Sirka or the Solomani Rule of Man; this had to wait until the early years of the vigorous Third Imperium when explorers of the new Imperial Interstellar Scout Service pushed beyond the known frontiers of Corridor Sector and found many readily exploitable worlds.
