Giikusu is an industrial world with a tainted atmosphere. The system has a population over one billion. This world is designated an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Dunmag Subsector of Deneb Sector and in the Domain of Deneb. Giikusu, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and the fiefdom of a count. Both are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level. This is the homeworld of the Kirissukyoya, a Minor Race.

Era: New Era
Giikusu system has a population between 10 and 100 million sophonts. It is a member of Regency of Deneb in the Namidshur Subsector of Deneb Sector and in the Regency Frontier. This is the homeworld of the Kirissukyoya, a Minor Race.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Mainworld Data[edit]
- Year length: 300 days
- Day length: 41 hours
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Giikusu is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Giikusu has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. While the thin atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Giikusu has 65-75% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The planet features extensive forests of tree-like plants.
Native Intelligent Life (NIL)[edit]
Giikusu is the homeworld of the Kirissukyoya.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The Kirissukyoya were nearly destroyed in a long-ago war, but were saved by the intervention of Droyne from Zeen, a world which had previously traded with Giikusu. With Droyne help, the Kirissukyoya slowly but steadily rebuilt their civilization and population, and in time resumed their place as a starfaring nation.
In the time period leading up to the Vargr Campaigns, Giikusu was a victim of Vargr corsairs and raiding. With the Third Imperium preparing to move against local Vargr, Giikusu found support for its own struggle. By 180, Giikusu was building jump-capable starships and pushing the Vargr coreward. The planet soon took its place as an Imperial member world.
World Starport[edit]
Giikusu has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Giikusu has a population of 10,000,000,000 sophonts (tens of billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
- Most of the population are Kirissukyoya. Small communities of Humans, Vargr, Droyne and Nenlat are also found here, making up less than 5% of the population.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Giikusu possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Giikusu is governed by a Non-charismatic Dictatorship. This is a continuation of the charismatic dictatorship, where the original leadership has died or retired and been replaced by allies or protégés. The justifications for the original change in government remain as well as the assertion of rights to rule.
World Law (L)[edit]
Giikusu has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A world with this law level may be an Amber Zone or a Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. Travel documents are frequently checked. There is no legal concept of privacy (save for those who can claim necessity for official government business). The police are free to inspect anyone and anything at any time.
World Economy[edit]
Trade Data[edit]
Cheap industrial goods from Zinuun are often sold on Giikusu.
