Nurara is a fluid world with an oceanic geography of a liquid other than water such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquids. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Million Subsector of Deneb Sector and in the Domain of Deneb. Nurara, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel.

Nurara is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Nurara has an Exotic Atmosphere and possesses an unusual gas mix which requires the use of oxygen tanks. Additionally, protective suits, while not necessary, are recommended. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Nurara has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Nurara, as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world.
World Starport[edit]
Nurara has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

The population is Human with less than 6,000 non-Human inhabitants.
World Government[edit]
Nurara is governed by a Participatory Democracy where eligible voters determine laws and policy. What determines an eligible voter varies. There may be smaller councils or regional bodies to draft the policies voted upon. Leadership of the government and all members of the bureaucracy are determined by the voting population.
World Law Level[edit]
Nurara has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Portable energy weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.

The economy is dedicated to the support of the IISS scout base.
World Culture[edit]
The system's culture is dominated by the IISS and its customs are closely related to those widely held by that institution. The IISS base training schools lend teachers to local teaching institutions and as a result the education system is heavily influenced by IISS doctrine. Up to 37% of all graduating children of the planet will join the IISS each year.
Historical Data[edit]
Settlement[edit]
Nurara was settled by Vargr from Aerfor (Deneb 3104) as part of the Ksekgizoksdhaerzluenoe in 148 but became part of the Sandherroerghdoe Kaefoulto during the internecine strife that split the Ksekgizoksdhaerzluenoe into two parts. The Vargr named the world Alloun Ezaedhingruk which was shortened to Ouneza (then Ounurara) by the Imperial Traders.
Nurara was first settled by Humans during the Vargr Campaigns when the existing Sandherroerghdoe Kaefoulto colony had been eliminated by a task force from the Imperial Marines. This was around the new scout base (Nurara) that had been established on the world at a completely new site -- the old ruins remained untouched. Nurara was admitted to the Imperium in 400.
Nurara scout base has been heavily involved in coreward exploration of the Galaxy by the IISS.
Imperial Years[edit]
Nurara's civilian establishments consisted of two main urban centres -- the Scout Base and the estate of the Imperial Knight. Both were marginal affairs. They were temporarily abandoned during the First and Second Frontier Wars when the region was overrun by Vargr, but were rebuilt later in, or after each conflict.
World Timeline[edit]
Major events that have affected this world and the wider region that it lies within:
- ca -250,000: The Ancients are active within the region, transplanting the Vargr onto Lair.
- -9235: The Vilani discover jump technology. A few explorers and settlers begin to pioneer the region.
- -4045 to -2204: The Ziru Sirka claims a few rimward worlds and establishes a firm border. The Windhorn Rift and the absence of any significant Mains discourages large-scale Vilani expansion into the region.
- -3810: The Vargr discover jump technology and begin an era of expansion.
- -2400s: Vargr raiding into Human-dominated areas significantly increases. This becomes known as the Vargr Pillaging.
- ca -1700: Vargr rimward expansion gradually ceases: the border between Human and Vargr space stabilizes.
- -1776 to 0: The Long Night. There is widespread regression within the area and some worlds become barren.
- The Year 0: To rimward-trailing, the Third Imperium is founded.
- circa 26: The Empire of Varroerth is founded.
- early 100s: The Contract of Taarskoerzn is founded.
- 148: Nurara is settled by Vargr from Aerfor (Deneb 3104) as part of the Ksekgizoksdhaerzluenoe.
- 170s: Nurara becomes part of the Sandherroerghdoe Kaefoulto with the splitting of the Ksekgizoksdhaerzluenoe.
- 300-420: The Imperial First Survey charts the system.
- 400: Nurara is admitted to the Third Imperium.
- early 400s: The Irrgh Manifest is founded: it absorbs the Contract of Taarskoerzn.
- mid 500s: The Knokseng Confederation is founded.
- 869: The Glory of Taarskoerzn is founded. It splits the Irrgh Manifest.
- 995-1065: The Imperial Second Survey charts the system.
- 1065: The Second Survey is published. Information about the system becomes widely available.
- 1080s: The Knokseng Confederation is dissolved.
- 1090: The Dzarrgh Federate is formed.
Rebellion and The New Era
As a result of the decision to withdraw the Scout Base as part of the Abandonment both were closed-up in 1135 and the population evacuated to Gaza (Deneb 1615). The Regency Interstellar Scout Service moved them using a liner chartered from Tukera Lines for the purpose. The population's heavier equipment was aboard a separate vessel. This vessel was intercepted by Pirates at Tensas (Deneb 2810) and so the population arrived destitute. Because much of the equipment stolen belonged to the RISS, the theft was investigated, and some of the RISS equipment recovered at Mazirbe (Deneb 2210). This didn't help the evacuees much, but six members of the Knight's retinue were convicted for being complicit in the theft in 1137.

The Nobles of Nurara were evacuated by the IISS in 1135.
World Starport
Nurara does not have a starport. The Class X Starport is an indication that no starport exists in the system. There are no facilities or services available, and no site marked for landing.

World Government
Nurara has no central government or substantial government apparatus; an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
World Law Level
Nurara has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas.
