Pretoria, subsector A of Deneb Sector, is a vigorous, growing subsector near the Spinward fringe of the Imperium. The subsector's major Xboat route connects the Coreward subsectors of the Spinward Marches with the heart of the Deneb Sector.
Description[edit]
Pretoria, subsector A of Deneb, has 31 worlds, of which 25 have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, four Desert (De) worlds, two Garden (Ga) worlds, one Ice-capped (Ic) world, six Poor (Po) worlds, two Vacuum (Va) worlds, and no Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds. In Pretoria there are two species homeworlds.
The subsector capital is at Pretoria, which is currently under Imperial Naval rule as a result of the Rachelean Revolts. Pretoria operates two jump bridges that connect the subsector capital with two jump-1 mains: one in hex 0405 and one in hex 0407. The facilities are also used by the Pretoria navy and occasionally by the Imperial navy.
The Pretoria Subsector is defended by 194th Fleet.

History & Background[edit]
The Legend of Sachoppek states that a wealthy Vilani nobleman of the Ziru Sirka found riches beyond belief in the Pretoria Subsector[1]. The location of his supposed mine remains unknown and the legend draws wildcatters, treasure seekers, fringe archaeologists and religious cultists to the subsector's backwaters.
Originally designated as District 217, Pretoria saw a rush of MegaCorporation investment in the 300s.
In 457 Pretoria Subsector was admitted into the Imperium.

- The Year 0: To rimward, the Third Imperium is founded.
- 34: The Lidash League, led by Deneb (1925), is contacted by the IISS; trade begins soon afterwards.
- 75: Regina Subsector in the Spinward Marches is settled, shifting the centre of trade from Deneb to Mora.
- 220: Vargr Campaigns begin.
- 300 to 420: The Imperial First Survey.
- 350: Vargr Campaigns end.
- 457: Pretoria Subsector admitted into the Imperium.
- 613-622: The Denebian Bad War, part of the Civil War.
- 675: Xboat system covers Deneb.
- (1010 to 1011): Rachelean Revolts.
- 1065: The Second Survey is published. Information about the region becomes widely available.
History: New Era[edit]
Pretoria's frontier is a part of two quarantine districts. Regency Quarantine District 2 which enters Pretoria from spinward and extends to Enaaka (Deneb 0203). This represents the trailing terminus of the Vargr interface that runs along the corward edge of the Spinward Marches Sector. Regency Quarantine District 3 begins immediately trailing of Enaaka. [2]
