Krisna is a water world with 90% or more of its surface covered in an ocean of water. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Lamas Subsector of Deneb Sector and in the Domain of Deneb. Krisna, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world.

Description (Planetology)[edit]

This system is located in the Antra Pocket.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Krisna was originally settled by followers of an ancient Terran religion known as Brahmanism. This particular group worshiped a particular god known as Vishnu the Preserver, and his eighth incarnation, Krisna the Warrior. In keeping with many of their faith's tenets, the local laws reflect a religious orientation, particularly nonviolence and prohibitions against the eating of certain animals.

The Hindu caste system is not practiced, however, and the world is strongly Imperial in culture. Many of the major cities are built with ancient Vedic themes, and many are dominated by huge temples, statues and reliefs constructed in the ancient Indian tradition. Buddhism is also practiced, though it is a minority religion. Besides Krisna, locals are strongly devoted to the Sea God, Varuna.

The government is actually a coalition of city and local administrations rather than a centralized structure. Most of the population lives in floating or anchored habitats, many of them constructed around large man-made harbors and canals designed to promote sea commerce.
