Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Rimkuku is a Big World between 13,600km and 15,200km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1G and 1.3G. The horizon will appear about 5.4km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Rimkuku has an Exotic Atmosphere and possesses an unusual gas mix which requires the use of oxygen tanks. Additionally, protective suits, while not necessary, are recommended. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Rimkuku has 75-85% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few large continents and extensive islands. Wilderness refueling is possible.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Rimkuku's atmosphere is highly charged by solar flare activity. While surface radiation levels remain tolerable, the increased heat and friction turn the world into a permanent lightning storm. Winds of up to hurricane intensity tear through the upper atmosphere, and are severe enough near the equator to prevent ship landings. Lightning arcs measuring up to 100 miles (160 km) in length have been recorded by orbiting satellites, and when discharges ignite airborne sulfur compounds it creates an incandescence that is visible to the 100 diameter line. The surface of the world is quite calm by comparison, but the local atmosphere remains unbreatheable without PLSS. The world contains many resources useful to industry, and the surface is dotted with domed communities that mine, process or utilize these resources for manufacturing or export. All of these communities are independent from each other, and wars have erupted in the past over resources and territory.
Imperial Landed Nobility (N)[edit]
TBD
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Rimkuku has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
