Native Lifeforms

The ecosphere is primitive, and is dominated by large rainforests of spore-producing trees and terrestrial invertebrates. Several of these spores are toxic to Humans, which accounts for the Amber Zone listing.

Ruwenzori has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.

World Government (G)

Ruwenzori is governed by a Participatory Democracy where eligible voters determine laws and policy. What determines an eligible voter varies. There may be smaller councils or regional bodies to draft the policies voted upon. Leadership of the government and all members of the bureaucracy are determined by the voting population.

History-Era: The New Era (Click Expand to reveal)

The New Era

This previously unclaimed world was bought out by SpinDev/Ventureprise in 1155. Spindev's operations on the world are shrouded in semi-secrecy, and have aroused the irritation of RQS several times. The company had been notoriously difficult in explaining irregular shipping patterns during the 1160s and 70s, and nearly lost its charter. The implied smuggling has ended, but the company's operations are still dogged by rumor and controversy.
