The Yaitlat of Peres (Deneb 1221) are a technologically developing Minor Non-Human Race with a Non-humanoid appearance.
Their native name is unknown; "Yaitlat" is a Nenlat designation.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
The Yaitlat are descended from wetlands herbivorous intermittents, and are larger and heavier than humans on average. They are bilaterally symmetric, but apparently headless, as their brain and senses are located in their torso. Yaitlat have a pair of arms, each ending in two opposed groups of relatively inflexible digits, capable of clamping an object between them. They have two strong legs, plus a vestigial tail. Their body is protected by a segmented shell.
The Yaitlat have four sexes.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The xenophobic Yaitlat are a Minor Race native to Peres (Deneb 1221). They intensely dislike and distrust all humans due to years of cruel exploitation by the former Imperial rulers of Vincennes Subsector, the Humbolts.
The term "Yaitlat" is a shortened form of Yaitlatboklimhun, which translates from the primary Nenlat language as, approximately, "The large, slow people".
Offworld Relations[edit]
The Yaitlat are now protected by the IISS. They were abused in the past by Vincennes' rulers, who were extracting hallucinogenic compounds from these beings via cruel, unethical, and deadly processes[1]. Any humans visiting Peres are advised to keep out of sight and the system has been classified as an Amber Zone by the IISS. The Nenlat handle Imperial contact.
