Fosfog is an agricultural world with an ideal environment for producing food from plants, animals, or other lifeforms. The system has a population between 100,000 and 10 million sophonts. This world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it dangerous to visitors. It is a member of United Followers of Augurgh in the Million Subsector of Deneb Sector.

Era: New Era
Fosfog is a world suited to becoming an agricultural world, but with a population between 10,000 and 100,000 sophonts it lacks the capability to produce or process sufficient resources to export its projected agricultural produce. It is a member of Wilds in the Million Subsector of Deneb Sector. 100% of the world's population is the Major Race Vargr.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
This world is part of the Million Trace.
Stellar Data[edit]
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Fosfog is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Fosfog has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. While a Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Fosfog has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Fosfog is a Vargr dominated world controlled by a bizarre bureaucratic government known as the Tharrgueroe. It was based upon the Legalist philosophy of an obscure political theorist named Ang Tharrguge, who argued that the best form of utilitarian rulership in the shifting sands of the Vargr Extents was a rigid, formalised bureaucratic dictatorship. But unlike most theorists, Tharrguge added a quasi-mystical vision to his theories, saying that devotion to this code was the best means of coming back into harmonious conformance with the universe. His system dictated a heavy-handed mixture of all-encompassing legal codes, police intrusion, and compulsory egalitarianism. Even diet, individual clothing and personal tastes were regulated based upon government psychological profiling of individual citizens.
Daily life on Fofog is dictated by a legal system known as the Codex of Ordinances, which spells out statutory codes for nearly every possible activity. The Kokhazue, a mixture of police and official monitors, ensure general compliance with the system. Every citizen has a place determined for them by the official education system, which predetermines the careers and economic strata (and even the hobbies and extracurricular pursuits) of its young through psychological monitoring as early as age eight. Offworld influences are not tolerated, and travel and trade is limited to carefully supervised exchanges. So omnipresent is the state, and so carefully cocooned is the populace, that it became nearly impossible to offer an alternative view, or to inject outside ideas or ideologies without inciting the locals to violence.
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Fosfog has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- Vargr starports typically reflect the variety of Vargr architecture, with many disparate styles of building, each having their own unique ornamentation and gaudy colour scheme, and all competing for the attention of the onlooker. This world's architecture and cultural expression are far more rigidly controlled than the Vargr standard.
World Government (G)[edit]
Fosfog is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.
Historical Data[edit]
World Timeline[edit]
Major events that have affected this world and the wider region that it lies within:
- ca -250,000: The Ancients are active within the region, transplanting the Vargr onto Lair.
- -9235: The Vilani discover jump technology. A few explorers and settlers begin to pioneer the region.
- -4045 to -2204: The Ziru Sirka claims a few rimward worlds and establishes a firm border. The Windhorn Rift and the absence of any significant Mains discourages large-scale Vilani expansion into the region.
- -3810: The Vargr discover jump technology and begin an era of expansion.
- -2400s: Vargr raiding into Human-dominated areas significantly increases. This becomes known as the Vargr Pillaging.
- ca -1700: Vargr rimward expansion gradually ceases: the border between Human and Vargr space stabilizes.
- -1776 to 0: The Long Night. There is widespread regression within the area and some worlds become barren.
- The Year 0: To rimward-trailing, the Third Imperium is founded.
- circa 26: The Empire of Varroerth is founded.
- early 100s: The Contract of Taarskoerzn is founded.
- 210: The Ksekgizoksdhaerzluenoe interstellar nation has partially dissolved[2], but Fosfog -- the newest member -- is able to maintain political unity with neighbouring Unekh (Deneb 2603) and Talon (Deneb 2704) (the latter being the dissolving state's capital).
- 300-420: The Imperial First Survey charts the system.
- early 400s: The Irrgh Manifest is founded: it absorbs the Contract of Taarskoerzn.
- mid 500s: The Knokseng Confederation is founded.
- 869: The Glory of Taarskoerzn is founded. It splits the Irrgh Manifest.
- 995-1065: The Imperial Second Survey charts the system.
- 1065: The Second Survey is published. Information about the system becomes widely available.
- 1080s: The Knokseng Confederation is dissolved.
- 1090: The Dzarrgh Federate is formed.
The New Era
A Vampire Fleet announced its visit to the system in 1145 with nuclear airbursts that destroyed the capitol and most other population centers. The survivors were driven to the starport and its surrounding communities, and local society nearly collapsed in the panic. The planetary leadership had been wiped out, and the surviving Kokhazue took command. The new leadership dispensed with the secular aspects of their philosophy, and turned it into a full blown cult surrounding Tharrguge and his teachings. Under their guidance, the survivors were rallied and reorganised, and reconstruction of the world began. The combination of a tyrannical government and a zombiefied populace intent upon "keeping the ball in the air" has actually worsened the state of this world. Present circumstances on the world require a return to first principles, a dim possibility under the current regime.References & Contributors (Sources)[edit]
