Fennec has an ideal environment and a balance of available water for producing food from plants, animals, or other lifeforms. The system supports a population in the 100s of millions, which makes it too urbanized to be an agricultural world. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Sabine Subsector of Deneb Sector and in the Domain of Deneb. Fennec, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and a baronet, and the fiefdom of a viscount. All three are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Fennec is a small world located on the L'sis Main, only a few parsecs from the Spinward Marches. Much of the planetary economy is built around agriculture, ranching, and forestry. However, virtually every farmer, rancher, and forester on the planet works and lives on land that is owned by someone else. Early in its history, a relatively small group of landowners established almost total control over almost all of the useful land on the planet. Only about one person in three thousand is a landowner (or Graf) and the minimum legal size for an estate is about ten thousand acres. The result is a planet with a unique and complex culture.

The Octagon Society built a shelter on Fennec in 470.

World Starport[edit]

Fennec has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
