Era: New Era
Ikhaba is an agricultural world with an ideal environment for producing food from plants, animals, or other forms. The system has a population between 100,000 and 10 million sophonts. It is a member of Wilds in the Million Subsector of Deneb Sector.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
System Data[edit]
There are two moons around Ikhaba. One is a captured asteroid in low orbit and expected to fall onto the planet in about 40 million years. The other is a relatively large moon, Isizulu, which is only just inside the limit for the planet holding a moon.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Ikhaba is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.
- Radius: 9,400km
- Circumference: 29,530km
- Gravity: 0.8G.
- Day Length: 23 hours
- Orbital Year: 97 days
- Average Temperature:19 Celsius
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Ikhaba has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. While a Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Ikhaba has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Prior to the Vargr Campaigns, Ikhaba was part of the Ksekgizoksdhaerzluenoe, but was forced out by the activities of Vargr Corsairs who preyed on the nation's good fortune until it broke up under the pressure. Ikhaba tried to go it alone, but fell under the influence of Ling Standard Products, who managed to keep the world outside the Imperium when Million was admitted as a subsector in 400. Then (after a change of policy), LSP had the world incorporated into the Imperium in 592 when (during the First Frontier War) they came to understand the full extent of the disasters that could occur without full Imperial Protection. (The world was occupied by Vargr Corsairs for much of the period of the war and thoroughly looted.)
Ikhaba remains a Vargr-populated world.
Ikhaba is a corporate state, now owned by Ling-Standard Products, and its laws forbid portable energy weapons. The mainworld has a mostly transient population consisting primarily of prospectors hoping to find vast wealth under the planet's surface.
Imperial High (Landed) Nobility[edit]
Ikhaba, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of two members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial knight.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial baron.
- Part of the Marquisate of Million.
- The Abandonment saw Baron Ikhaba evacuated by the IN in 1136.
World Starport[edit]
Summary[edit]
The starport and its associated startown are located next to Lake Ushaar, whose waters are used for refuelling starships. Startown itself is a modest affair, little more than a couple rows of housing and shops for starport personnel[2].
The starport's ability to maintain ships and boats was deliberately slighted as part of the Abandonment.
1105[edit]
Ikhaba has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
1200[edit]
Ikhaba has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population[edit]
1105: Ikhaba has a population of 100,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
1200: Ikhaba has a population of 100,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
While the Imperial Navy in cooperation with Ling Standard Products evacuated about 90% of the native population of world between 1133 and 1136, they were onto an up-hill struggle with refugees from Khouth Subsector arriving almost as fast as the United Followers of Augurgh could resettle them. This flow abruptly stopped in 1139.
World Technology Level[edit]
1105[edit]
Ikhaba possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:

- Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
- Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
1200[edit]
Ikhaba possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
- Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
- Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
- Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government[edit]
Summary[edit]
1105[edit]
Ikhaba is governed by a Corporate Polity with a single corporation with a typical corporate structure as a government. A company town, or world. The typical corporate run world usually has a single purpose. Examples include mining, agriculture, or other kinds of resource extraction. But rather than a simple base of operations, there are facilities for housing workers and their families including hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure. How, or if, the children of the workers are incorporated into the workforce varies with companies. The corporation running the world may be a subsidiary of a larger interstellar corporation. This was Ling Standard Products
1200[edit]
Ikhaba has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other. Those not evacuated, arriving groups from Khouth Subsector and later Vargr groups seeking refuge created a patchwork of small, competing states.
World Military[edit]
1 Battalion
World Law[edit]
Summary[edit]
The change of law level represented a reaction to the Virus and Red Pelts. The additional restrictions noted applied to non-residents.
1105[edit]
Ikhaba has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Portable energy weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.

World Economy[edit]
Trade Data[edit]
Ikhaba was a major source of food for Khouth until the invasion of Khouth Subsector by the Dzarrgh Federate. After that invasion, the food was still traded, but the United Followers of Augurgh acted as intermediaries.
World Culture[edit]
The culture of the planet was that of a corporate world with many, many generations of workers having been born there and the remainder being Transients employed by Ling Standard Product. After the Abandonment, the evacuees from Khouth brought several determined batches of new groups who could not agree on anything and quickly balkanised.
Urbanization[edit]
During the Abandonment, the world broke into small communities scattered across the world in an attempt to avoid attracting Corsairs.
