System Data[edit]

Mainworld Data[edit]

Ara Pacis is a small planet, with a surface gravity of 0.45 G.

Mainworld Topography and Geography[edit]

  • Bisethi (settlement)
  • Daghegu (forested hills)
  • Nicoli (settlement)
  • Rowe Archipelago
  • Tarepe (settlement)
  • Thebu Plain (near the downport)
  • Tunareja (settlement on the floor of a Rift valley)

Native Lifeforms[edit]

The oceans are rich in life. Tentacled fauna construct elaborate submerged warrens, while some predators are notably aggressive. Kelp forests provide cheap food production. On land, plants and animals are less advanced.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Ara Pacis is the seat of the County of Ara Pacis. It is part of the Sabine Backwater.

The world was first colonized by settlers from Magash (Deneb 0316) in 450. Ara Pacis is now a balkanized world whose six million people represent a wide variety of cultural norms. The cluster of small states struggle against each other for control of the sole Class-A starport.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Ara Pacis has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Ara Pacis has a population of 6,000,000 sophonts (millions).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.

World Government (G)[edit]

Ara Pacis has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.

World Law Level (L)[edit]

Ara Pacis has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

World Technology Level (TL)[edit]

Ara Pacis possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Economy[edit]

The starport yards build small starships for Thengin, a supplement to the production runs from Seleen.

Mining takes place on Ara Pacis; mines are small and scattered. Each is owned by a different concern.

Lurent planetoid ships may be found, trading, in the inner system; or in the system's Oort clouds, refuelling.
