Kubishush is a high population industrial world with a population over a billion sophonts. There is an oceanic geography of a liquid other than water such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquids. This world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Inar Subsector of Deneb Sector and in the Domain of Deneb. Kubishush, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight and the fiefdoms of a count and a minor duke. All three are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world.

Era: New Era
Kubishush is a high population industrial world with a population over a billion sophonts. There is an oceanic geography of a liquid other than water such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquids. It is a member of Regency of Deneb in the Inar Subsector of Deneb Sector. Less than 10% of the world's population is the Major Race Vargr.
- It is a main world which is a satellite of either a gas giant or another world.
- This world has a colony at Jehun (world).
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Kubishush is a cold, close satellite orbiting a small gas giant, Oolvig Jena. The mainworld's dense, corrosive atmosphere is composed mostly of nitrogen with traces of water, nitrogen oxides and carbon dioxide. Ammonia seas cover 60% of the planet's surface. Kubishush is highly unstable, with constant earthquakes and aftershocks that rock regions along the planet’s dozens of major fault lines.
Kubishush, or Unan Olov as it is known to its natives, is one of the more hostile places one may visit in the Regency. The native minor race, the Gl'lu, are friendly enough, but the buckling terrestrial surface and corrosive nitrogen-rich, ammonia-tainted atmosphere of the planet tend to make even a routine stopover an adventure.
Lurent planetoid ships may be found in the inner system, trading, or in the system’s Oort clouds, refuelling.
This world is located on the Sabinar Main.

World Data[edit]
Kubishush averages -40C and has a nitrogen atmosphere at 6.1 atm. pressure, with ammonia oceans and ammonia vapor in the air. The inhabitants are a hermaphroditic septapodal minor race, the Gl'lu, whose metabolism is based on oxidation of the ammonia in the air.

Native Sophont: Gl'lu[edit]
The world is notable as the homeworld of the Gl'lu, a Minor Race that vaguely resembles a cross between a Terran octopus and a slug. Offworlders find the Gl'lu friendly and welcoming, though the multitude of mainworld subcultures, each with its own language, as well as the decentralized government, can make local interpreters essential to visitors.
To get to know Kubishush, one need only get to know the Gl'lu. The Gl'lu have, at least to human perceptions, formed an entire civilization based on planetary cataclysms. Their world, a roiling hell by the standards of any of the major races, is so subject to natural catastrophes that its entire sentient culture is based upon surviving its earthquakes, storms and volcanic explosions.
Hyperactive Vulcanism[edit]
With 11 tectonic plates and a seismic stress factor of over nine, Kubishush is highly unstable. Constant earthquakes and aftershocks rock regions throughout the planet's dozens of major fault lines. Kubishush is known to have 13 to 16 continents at any one time, with occasional continental separations and convergences increasing or decreasing the number from time to time. Immense mountain ranges crisscross the planet's continents like a web. While the geological and meteorological upheavals of Kubishush are great enough to cause dozens of small catastrophes every year throughout the globe, every decade or so, a quake, storm or volcanic eruption hits that is so severe it warrants the title of Yulangngol, or "Great Cataclysm." These events are so commonplace on Kubishush that they have been integrated into the Gl'lu culture. Many Gl'lu religious groups hail these events as signs from otherworldly deities. Secular Gl'lu groups look at these natural disasters as opportunities to prove Gl'lu prowess in the areas of environmental and disaster recovery technology.
Hyperactive Weather[edit]
Kubishush's turbulent atmosphere, dense over-ocean grav traffic and high number of floating cities make skimming its ammonia oceans a dangerous task, effectively eliminating them as wilderness refueling sites as well. In addition, no other planets in the system have any hydrosphere whatsoever. In order to compensate traders for the lack of viable wilderness refueling sites, the Gl'lu sell imported fuel at their orbital and planetary starports for approximately 50 percent of the normal price found throughout the Regency. Political pressures from outside the system and the need for trade have influenced the Gl'lu to grant such generous dispensations of fuel.
Gl'lu Sacred Ground[edit]
The Gl'lu consider Oolvig Naseena, a dense planet in their system, as sacred ground, not to be desecrated by travellers wanting to skim for fuel. A considerable fleet of Gl'lu SDBs enforces this holy law, infraction of which is punishable by death. Gl'lu SDBs will not attempt to disable and board offenders of the interdiction, but rather will destroy offenders' ships or blast them into Oolvig Naseena's unforgiving gravity well.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
At the time of first contact by the IISS, the Gl'lu had independently achieved a high-common TL–8. After Kubishush was incorporated into the Imperium in 188, IISS representatives offered technological aid to lessen the impact of the planet's frequent catastrophes. The IISS was politely refused in the characteristic Gl'lu way. Such technological assistance, ruled Gl'lu leader Sananes Nuruva Gogonas, would upset the balance of Gl'lu culture. Most Gl'lu heartily agreed. The basis upon which one socially advances in Gl'lu society is proving one's skill at averting the affects of natural disasters and helping those less fortunate Gl'lu who are victimized by the whims of nature.
The Gl'lu build high quality starships for General Products[2].
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Kubishush has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Kubishush possesses a Technology Level of TL–13 or TL-D in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovideo recorders.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, prototype collectors, advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-4.
World Government (G)[edit]
Kubishush is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are young governments, coming as a recent change and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.
The Sananes -- "Young One" -- is the adolescent head of state. Government otherwise lies with the 17 council elders, members of the Unaga high-tech society.
World Demographics[edit]
9 billion Gl'lu.
Vargr refugees were granted a home here in the 1150s. Whether Vargr can handle, long-term, the constant geological upheaval is unclear, but they stand a better chance than humans.
Languages[edit]
World Culture[edit]
The Gl'lu form two societies -- the Unaga and the Kilig Gunati.
- Unaga, at TL-13 to TL-14, live in floating cities with gravitic capabilities.
- Kilig Gunati, the majority of the population, live on the unstable ground with lower technology.
