History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Starn is one of the powerhouses of Deneb, a resource-rich system with three productive planetoid belts, two gas giants, and megacorporate investments tied into every planet. It is one of the systems to which the Duchy of Inar owes its strength.
World Starport[edit]
Starn has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- Its starport produces starships and its scout base is used for local surveys and exploration among the backwater systems stretching from Inar (Deneb 1213) to Vincennes (Deneb 1122).
World Technology Level[edit]
Starn possesses a Technology Level of TL–15 or TL-F in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Meson Communicators and Pseudo Reality Communications.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, improved collectors, and advanced Fusion+.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Advanced gravcraft.
- Air: Advanced gravcraft and speeders.
- Space: Advanced gravcraft and G-Carriers.
- FTL: Jump Drive-6.
World Government[edit]
Starn is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.

Historical Data[edit]
The natives here are from a very old Vilani belter civilization, one of the very few to survive the Long Night as a zero G culture. They tend to be very tall -- 2m or more is not uncommon -- very thin, with dark skin and tufts of white hair. The hair styles indicate significant family and clan information. These "natives" are a large minority mixed in with the more cosmopolitan members of interstellar society. They tend to be quiet, contemplative individuals who rarely make sudden movements or random hand gestures. They are adept at zero G combat and sports, and renowned as daring and intuitive small craft pilots.
World Timeline[edit]
- (259): The Starn beltstrike of this year creates vast wealth for Ling-Standard Products, Sternmetal Horizons, Hortalez et Cie, and (in time) Delgado Trading.
- (685): Research Station Beta is founded in for strategic, tactical and technology research for the Imperial Navy.
