Atab has a thin, tainted atmosphere and a complete lack of surface water, making it poorly suited to sophont habitation. The system has a population of hundreds of millions of sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Zeng Subsector of Deneb Sector and in the Domain of Deneb. Atab, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and the fiefdoms of a marquis and a viscount. All three are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. 100% of the world's population is the Variant Human Race Jonkeereen.

Era: New Era

Atab is a poor, industrial, high-population desert hellworld, with a billion or more sophonts struggling to survive in an inhospitable environment.

  • Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants.
  • This world has no free-standing water.
  • As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item. It is a member of Regency of Deneb in the Zeng Subsector of Deneb Sector. This world contains a Regency Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. 100% of the world's population is the Variant Human Race Jonkeereen.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

This world is home to a community of Jonkereen.

Jonkeereen

The IISS base here is part of a cordon of security around Pashus, protecting Research Station Zeta.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Atab has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)[edit]

Atab has a population of 300,000,000 sophonts (hundreds of millions).

World Government (G)[edit]

Atab is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.

World Law Level (L)[edit]

Atab has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).

World Technology Level (TL)[edit]

Atab possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Advanced automobiles.
    • Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
    • Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
    • Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
