Description (Specifications)[edit]

(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)

The following astrographic and commercial data has been determined regarding the subsector:

Astrographic Features[edit]

The subsector is a generally unremarkable area lying within the Solomani Confederation.

  • It is an average stellar density region.
  • The brightest star is Algol, the blue-white main sequence primary of the Algol system.

Stellar Distribution[edit]

A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Star Bridge Subsector, right:

  • The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
  • The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.

Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.

  • Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
  • Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.

Trade Routes[edit]

Zarn Cluster. (Chart sourced from Traveller Map).

One trade route, the Zarn Cluster, lies on the spinward edge of the region. High cargo capacity, low jump rating vessels move along it, carrying huge amounts of goods and commodities between its member worlds.

Less profitable higher jump rating merchant vessels conduct trade and commerce among the region's many scattered worlds.

Zarn Cluster[edit]

The Zarn Cluster has fifteen member systems. It is named for (and almost entirely lies within) Zarn Subsector of Canopus Sector.

  • A single world, at the far trailing end of the cluster, lies within the subsector.

World Listing[edit]

Comprehensive Second Survey data for all worlds lying within Star Bridge Subsector is available.

  • The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.
  • Other sources may differ: some elements of the data may be contradictory or incorrect.
  • Data is occasionally updated as new information becomes available.

AAB library archives contain expanded data about the following systems:

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

During the Rule of Man the subsector was associated with the Terran Mercantile Community, a large paramilitary corporation that became the foundation for the Old Earth Union during the Long Night.

Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Confederation and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, but many see it as an act of duty to help protect the Solomani state and its interests.

Polity Listing[edit]

The following polities can be found within this subsector:

Security & Defense[edit]

The worlds of the region are patrolled by the Solomani Navy. It defends Confederation territory, protects Confederation interests, suppresses piracy, and ensures interstellar trade and commerce.

Communications Links[edit]

The Solomani Navy operates couriers and packet ships to carry communications and mail within the Confederation. Some of the routes they make use of predate the founding of the Solomani Autonomous Region while others have far more modern origins, being established following the Solomani Rim War and Solomani independence.

  • Multiple communications routes cross the subsector.

Subsector Summary[edit]

Star Bridge, subsector E of Aldebaran, contains 20 worlds with an estimated combined population of 9 billion, a per capita income of Cr5,837, and a total economy of BCr55,821. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr2,544 through 15 starports (7 Class A, 5 Class B, 2 Class C, 1 Class D) employing 395,605 people. Driving this interstellar trade are one Agricultural (Ag) world, no Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, two Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, one Pre-Industrial (Pi) world, one Rich (Ri) world, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Star Bridge maintain four Naval bases and four Military bases. The average technology level is 9 (with most between 7 and 11). The highest technology level is 13 at Proserpina (Aldebaran 0715).

Star Bridge, subsector E of Aldebaran, contains 30 stars and 224 identified planets; 11 monostellar systems, eight binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 18 of the 20 systems (90%) have native gas giants. There are one Asteroid (As) belt, no Desert (De) worlds, three Garden (Ga) worlds, one Ice-capped (Ic) world, three Poor (Po) worlds, two Vacuum (Va) worlds, and no Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Star Bridge has an estimated population of 9 billion distributed across two High population (Hi) worlds, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, seven Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, eight Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Valdarno (Aldebaran 0816) and Katahdin (Aldebaran 0413). The population consists primarily of 2 sophont groups including one native sophont.

Solomani Confederation[edit]

The Solomani Confederation has jurisdiction over 18 worlds in the subsector with an estimated combined population of 9 billion, a per capita income of Cr5,837, and a total economy of BCr55,821. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr2,543 through 13 starports (6 Class A, 4 Class B, 2 Class C, 1 Class D) employing 395,560 people. Driving this interstellar trade are one Agricultural (Ag) world, no Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, one Pre-Agricultural (Pa) world, one Pre-Industrial (Pi) world, one Rich (Ri) world, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in the Solomani Confederation maintain three Naval bases and three Military bases within the subsector. The average technology level is 9 (with most between 7 and 11). The highest technology level is 13 at Proserpina (Aldebaran 0715).

The Solomani Confederation has an estimated population of 9 billion within the subsector, distributed across two High population (Hi) worlds, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, five Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, eight Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Valdarno (Aldebaran 0816) and Katahdin (Aldebaran 0413). The population consists primarily of 2 sophont groups including one native sophont.

Non-Aligned[edit]

There are two Non-Aligned worlds in Star Bridge with an estimated combined population of less than 1 million.
