Myrthe is a nonindustrial, pre-rich world still lacking adequate population to expand its economy to a rich status.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- It is a part of the Third Reformed French Confederate Republic, a member state of the Solomani Confederation, located in the Star Bridge Subsector of Aldebaran Sector.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Myrthe has a solitary primary star.
- It is an orange main sequence.
It is a sister star to the primary of the Reunion system. Despite their slight differences in mass and luminosity, the two have almost identical chemical properties.
- The star has an approximate age of 4.2 billion years.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x9 secondary rocky worlds.
- x3 planetoid belts.
- x1 gas giant.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Myrthe has a rotation period of 24.25 hours, which matches well with the fundamental biological rhythms of Humaniti.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Myrthe is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Myrthe has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.
- It experiences generally moderate temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Myrthe has 15-25% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. There may be a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.
Satellites[edit]
Myrthe retains a single small moon named Riddle.
- It orbits once every few weeks.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
Myrthe is a relatively dry world, with a single small ocean in a depression between the 40th and 75th latitude lines in the northern hemisphere. Local geologists have shown this to be subduction zone. This sea is bounded by three mountain ranges.
It is a younger world that displays intense tectonic activity, primarily in the form of extensive volcanism. Sunsets are noted for their brilliant, vivid hues.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
- Native lifeforms are adapted to arid conditions.
A number of species of large powerful carnivores inhabit the vast wildernesses of the world. Occasionally one strays into a settled area, often targeting easy prey such as cattle or other introduced agricultural species. Locals will organize a bug hunt in such cases, tracking down and eliminating the threat.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Myrthe was settled on or about 915 by colonists from Euxene. Despite the world's relative aridity much of the surface is fairly hospitable, with vast plains and rolling scrub-covered hills. Around the settled regions there are strong storms, which often include powerful tornadoes. The early colonists brought with them genetically engineered cattle to take advantage of the grassy plains. These cattle remain a mainstay of Myrthic life. Myrthic steak and meats are a recognized luxury brand throughout the region.
Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Confederation and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, but many see it as an act of duty to help protect the Solomani state and its interests.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Myrthe has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- This world is host to a Republic Naval Base.
- This world is host to a major Military Base.
The Myrthe Highport is mostly run by Republic personnel, with a smattering of locals from the Technical University of Pierre.
World Population (P)[edit]
Myrthe has a population of 100,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- The population almost entirely consists of Solomani humans.
Urbanization[edit]
Two urban areas have been constructed in the hills on the western shore of the Sea. The are named Joyuese (the location of the startown) and Pierre.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Euxene French, a Terran language principally spoken in the Euxene Cluster.
- Rim Anglic, a dialect of Anglic and the principal language of the Confederation.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Myrthe possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-3.
World Government (G)[edit]
Myrthe is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
World Military[edit]
The Republic provides the military presence for Myrthe. The urban centers maintain a small professional paramilitary cadre for use in planetary emergencies.
World Law (L)[edit]
Myrthe has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).
Slug rifles and shotguns are allowed to licensed ranching personnel, with appropriate registration and training requirements.
