Kvazaat is a rich, agricultural garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
- It is a member of the Solomani Confederation in the Star Bridge Subsector of Aldebaran Sector.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- It is the homeworld of the Kwaz.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Kvazaat is a binary star system.
- The primary is a yellow main sequence.
- The secondary is a red main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x7 secondary rocky worlds.
- x3 planetoid belts.
- x2 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Kvazaat orbits within the prime region of its star's habitable zone.
- It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Kvazaat is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Kvazaat has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.
- It experiences generally moderate temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Kvazaat has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]
Around half the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water. Winding river systems flow from the highlands and mountains, draining into the lakes and seas. The world has relatively large polar ice caps.
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
Native Sophont (Kwaz): Kwaz[edit]
A diminutive race now found as agricultural day labourers throughout the Solomani Confederation.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Kvazaat was a focal point of the Red Zone Affair, a political conflict between the Third Imperium and the authorities within the Solomani Autonomous Region. The Imperial Interstellar Scout Service had no formal control over the territories beyond the Imperial frontier but nevertheless maintained a presence there. It recommended that a Red Zone interdiction be imposed on Kvazaat to protect the native sophonts. The Solomani Colonial Office ignored these recommendations and the Kwaz homeworld was fully opened to Solomani settlement in 856.
Native Sophont[edit]
The Kwaz are a sophont minor race native to the world. They are a physically diminutive, trilaterally symmetrical walkers renowned for scaring easily.
During the Rim War the Confederation attempted to "relocate" a number of non-human races to other worlds, principally to fill gaps in the labor market caused by humans serving in the military. Large numbers of Kwaz were moved to other worlds, mainly to assist with agricultural tasks. Their services remain in demand, they have integrated relatively well where they have settled, and generally they are thriving.
Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Confederation and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, but many see it as an act of duty to help protect the Solomani state and its interests.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Kvazaat has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Kvazaat has a population of 60,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).
- The population almost entirely consists of native Kwaz.
Urbanization[edit]
The Kwaz live in settlements humans term "townships", usually clustered around a fortified central citadel. Structures are constructed to serve Kwaz physiological needs and are generally far too small for humans to comfortably enter.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Native Kwaz languages.
- Rim Anglic, a dialect of Anglic and the principal language of the Confederation.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Kvazaat possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-2.
World Government (G)[edit]
Kvazaat is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.
World Law (L)[edit]
Kvazaat has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
