Subsector K of Far Frontiers Sector.

Description[edit]

(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)

As with much of the rimward Far Frontiers, this subsector has been subject to any number of proxy conflicts and political squabbles instigated by the Third Imperium and the Zhodani Consulate, who compete for hegemonic status.

Stellar Distribution[edit]

A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Taemerlyk Subsector, right:

  • The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
  • The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.

Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.

  • Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
  • Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.

Borealis Group[edit]

The Borealis Group can be seen as a bright, dense, noticeable grouping of stars in the skies to Spinward-rimward.

Major Historical Events Timeline: 1116[edit]

These are some of the more important historical events that have affected this subsector:

Summary[edit]

Taemerlyk, subsector K of Far Frontiers, contains 29 worlds with an estimated combined population of 192 billion, a per capita income of Cr3,896, and a total economy of BCr748,078. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr5,320 through 26 starports (15 Class A, 7 Class B, 1 Class C, 3 Class D) employing 1,808,805 people. Driving this interstellar trade are four Agricultural (Ag) worlds, one Non-Agricultural (Na) world, three Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, one Pre-Industrial (Pi) world, five Rich (Ri) worlds, and seven Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Taemerlyk maintain eight Naval bases, three Scout bases, and two Way stations. The average technology level is 9 (with most between 6 and 12). The highest technology level is 13 at Fenner (Far Frontiers 1723).

Taemerlyk, subsector K of Far Frontiers, contains 30 stars and 323 identified planets; 28 monostellar systems, one binary system, no trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 22 of the 29 systems (75%) have native gas giants. There are one Asteroid (As) belt, one Desert (De) world, three Garden (Ga) worlds, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, two Poor (Po) worlds, three Vacuum (Va) worlds, and no Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Taemerlyk has an estimated population of 192 billion distributed across eight High population (Hi) worlds, five Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 12 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, one Low population (Lo) world, and one Barren (Ba) world. The highest population worlds are Numicta (Far Frontiers 2428), Uldor (Far Frontiers 1928), Bigg's World (Far Frontiers 2021), Amanamanim (Far Frontiers 2125), and Caractacalla (Far Frontiers 2422). The population consists primarily of 2 sophont groups including one native sophont.

2 identified sophont populations in Taemerlyk

The Protectorate[edit]

The Protectorate has jurisdiction over 13 worlds in the subsector with an estimated combined population of 44 billion, a per capita income of Cr6,553, and a total economy of BCr289,710. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr2,860 through 12 starports (11 Class A, 1 Class B, 0 Class C, 0 Class D) employing 1,008,715 people. Driving this interstellar trade are one Agricultural (Ag) world, no Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, three Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, no Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, three Rich (Ri) worlds, and four Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in The Protectorate maintain four Naval bases, three Scout bases, and two Way stations within the subsector. The average technology level is 10 (with most between 7 and 12). The highest technology level is 12 at Amanamanim (Far Frontiers 2125) and Caractacalla (Far Frontiers 2422).

The Protectorate has an estimated population of 44 billion within the subsector, distributed across four High population (Hi) worlds, three Moderate population (Ph) worlds, five Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, no Low population (Lo) worlds, and one Barren (Ba) world. The highest population worlds are Bigg's World (Far Frontiers 2021), Amanamanim (Far Frontiers 2125), and Caractacalla (Far Frontiers 2422). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.

Non-Aligned, Human-dominated[edit]

There are six Non-Aligned Human-dominated worlds in Taemerlyk with an estimated combined population of 9 billion.

Union of Garth[edit]

The Union of Garth has jurisdiction over six worlds with an estimated combined population of 90 billion, a per capita income of Cr2,568, and a total economy of BCr233,634. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr133 through 5 starports (2 Class A, 2 Class B, 0 Class C, 1 Class D) employing 59,490 people. Driving this interstellar trade are no Agricultural (Ag) worlds, one Non-Agricultural (Na) world, no Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, one Pre-Industrial (Pi) world, two Rich (Ri) worlds, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in the Union of Garth maintain two Naval bases. The average technology level is 9 (with most between 7 and 10). The highest technology level is 11 at Garth (Far Frontiers 2228).

The Union of Garth has an estimated population of 90 billion distributed across one High population (Hi) world, one Moderate population (Ph) world, three Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, no Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Numicta (Far Frontiers 2428). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.

Four Worlds[edit]

The Four Worlds has jurisdiction over four worlds with an estimated combined population of 48 billion, a per capita income of Cr3,904, and a total economy of BCr187,657. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr2,277 through 4 starports (1 Class A, 3 Class B, 0 Class C, 0 Class D) employing 730,185 people. Driving this interstellar trade are one Agricultural (Ag) world, no Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, no Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, no Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, no Rich (Ri) worlds, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in the Four Worlds maintain one Naval base. The average technology level is 10 (with most between 9 and 10). The highest technology level is 11 at Uldor (Far Frontiers 1928).

The Four Worlds has an estimated population of 48 billion distributed across two High population (Hi) worlds, no Moderate population (Ph) worlds, one Non-industrial (Ni) world, no Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Uldor (Far Frontiers 1928). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.
