System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Garth is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Garth has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Garth has 85-95% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few small continents, and a number of islands and archipelagos. Dry land is limited. Wilderness refueling is possible.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Garth is the capital of the Union of Garth.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Garth has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Garth has a population of 40,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).

  • The population has Zhodani, Imperial, and Vlazhdumecta heritage.
  • Many families can trace their ancestry to pre-Long Night Vilani colonists.
  • This world supports a Bosaki enclave of the Bosak Starport Authority, providing speciality parts, maintenance and construction for BSA-built ships.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Garth possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Garth is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.

  • Every ten years the Union's King comes up for reappointment by the Parliament of Industry on Garth. This governmental body is composed of the various planets' leading merchants, technologists, and corporate executives.

World Military[edit]

Most of the vessels in the UGSN (the Union's Space Navy) are built here. The government of the Union has made several arms deals with foreign mega-corporations. All the ships in this fleet are built with off-the-shelf commercial components. They have no access to mil-spec parts or custom hulls.

World Law (L)[edit]

Garth has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Machine guns, other automatic weapons, portable energy weapons, and other military weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.
