Yakutz is a pre-agricultural, moderate population rich garden world with over a hundred million, but not yet a billion sophonts.
- Garden worlds are known for their near-ideal utopian environments conducive to most sophonts, plants, animals, and other forms of life.
- It is a pre-agricultural world with an environment suitable for large scale agricultural and livestock industries that have not yet been widely developed.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
- It is a member of The Protectorate in the Taemerlyk Subsector of Far Frontiers Sector.
- This world has an exploration base, which is similar to an Imperial Scout base, capable of handling explorer personnel and exploratory starships.
- It is a member of the Caractacalla Scatters.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Yakutz has a solitary primary star named Chok-tah.
- It is an orange main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld, orbiting at 0.6 AU.
- x6 secondary rocky worlds.
- The named worlds include scorched Yârosh (orbiting at 0.2 AU), ice capped Yâstin (orbiting at 3.4 AU) and frigid Yâskosh (orbiting at 13 AU).
- Three small unnamed worlds orbit in the far outer system.
- x3 gas giants. They are Yâkosch (orbiting at 1 AU), Yâsoh (orbiting at 1.8 AU), and Yâscon (orbiting at 6.6 AU).
Mainworld Data[edit]
The mainworld orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.
- It lies within the zone's warmer inner H+ region
- It receives higher levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Yakutz is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.
- The world experiences significant geological activity, including earthquakes and multiple active volcanoes.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Yakutz has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Yakutz has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
A basic map of Yakutz showing the seas (blue), rugged uplands (paler brown), high mountain ranges (darker brown), lowland (tan-green), and the small polar icecaps (pale blue).
- Much of one major continental landmass is submerged, but the waters over it are very shallow (paler blue), often no more than a few meters deep.
- Major urban areas are marked in red.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
World Starport (St)[edit]
Yakutz has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- The world has extensive orbital facilities but limited surface facilities.
- The world is host to an Exploration Base.
World Population (P)[edit]
Yakutz has a population of 800,000,000 sophonts (hundreds of millions).
- The population has Zhodani, Imperial, and Vlazhdumecta heritage.
- Many families can trace their ancestry to pre-Long Night Vilani colonists.
Urbanization[edit]
There are three major urban centers on the world, each home to hundreds of millions of residents. They are:
- (1) Hastok, the capital, (2), Grandich, and (3) Yaven.
- (2) The ruins of Yakutz Down Starport.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
- Local languages descended from Vlazhdumecta.
- These include Danatic, Kitalla, and Thetric (a trade language).
- Riftian Anglic, a dialect of one of the two principal languages of the Imperium.
- Zdetl, the language of the Zhodani and the Zhodani Consulate.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Yakutz possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-2.
World Government (G)[edit]
Yakutz is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy, and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. This ruling bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucractic apparatus or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence, like the military.
World Law (L)[edit]
Yakutz has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: 3 (ordinary)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: D (very abundant)
- Labor: 7 (tens of millions)
- Infrastructure: D (comprehensive)
- Efficiency: +4 (advanced)
World Culture[edit]
The world lies within the Zhodani Shadow, a region strongly influenced by the society and culture of the Zhodani Consulate.
- Heterogenity: 9 (discordant)
- Acceptance: B (extremely friendly)
- Strangeness: 6 (very distinct)
- Symbols: C (very abstract)
