Zyra is a rich, pre-agricultural world with a moderate population of over a hundred million, but not yet a billion sophonts in size.
- The world's agricultural industry is growing and some economists forecast an explosion in this world's agribusiness in the near future as new agro-technology and a more capable labor force are imported.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- This world has high-grade living conditions with a good climate and a non-harmful environment. As such, this world is much sought after with large queues for immigration here.
- It is a member of The Protectorate in the Taemerlyk Subsector of Far Frontiers Sector.
- This is a "Puzzle" world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld, orbiting at 3.0 AU. It is the innermost world in the system.
- x6 secondary rocky worlds.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Zyra orbits within the prime region of its star's habitable zone.
- It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Zyra is a Big World between 13,600km and 15,200km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1G and 1.3G. The horizon will appear about 5.4km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Zyra has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
- It experiences moderate temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Zyra has 65-75% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
A basic map of Zyra showing the seas (blue), major landmasses (tan-green), and the icecaps (pale blue).
- The world's government does not permit more detailed maps of the surface. Although there are uplands, mountains, deserts, and heavily vegetated regions, these are not marked on commercially available charts.
- Zorea, the capital, is ringed in red. The starport is marked by a red cross.
- Other major urban areas are marked in red.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Zyra is a Puzzle World and is designated as an Amber Zone. It presents particular risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that are not well understood.
- Visitors are advised to act with caution.
Offworlders are prohibited from leaving the offworld enclave on the eastern coast of Condrasin Island, the site of the starport.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Zyra has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- The surface port is the location of The Protectorate's embassy as well as various liaison and brokerage offices, which facilitate trade and commerce with the world.
- Security is heavy around the port and its perimeter.
World Population (P)[edit]
Zyra has a population of 500,000,000 sophonts (hundreds of millions).
- The population has Zhodani, Imperial, and Vlazhdumecta heritage.
- Many families can trace their ancestry to pre-Long Night Vilani colonists.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
- Local languages descended from Vlazhdumecta.
- These include Danatic, Kitalla, and Thetric (a trade language).
- Riftian Anglic, a dialect of one of the two principal languages of the Imperium.
- Zdetl, the language of the Zhodani and the Zhodani Consulate.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Zyra possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.

- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Zyra is governed by a Religious Dictatorship. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy). There is a powerful independent organization, the state religion, which has influence or direct control of the government. Like the bureaucratic governments this may simply be a strong influence with a secular government, be direct influence by virtue of controlling who may be in the leadership, or be a direct theocracy where the church leadership and bureaucracy is the government.
The world follows Vastianism, a form of nature worship that emphasizes courtesy and hospitality and teaches that Zyra is literally heaven.
- Followers of Vastianism exhibit a phobia about leaving their world, for fear that if they pass away while offworld their souls will never be able to return.
World Law (L)[edit]
Zyra has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).
- Local laws include heavy penalties for the mistreatment of both fauna and flora.
- Offworlders caught outside of the offworld enclave on Condrasin Island face long prison sentences.

- Importance: 3 (ordinary)
