System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Dloshl is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Dloshl has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. While a Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Dloshl has 65-75% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Dloshl is a Puzzle World and is designated as an Amber Zone. It presents particular risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that are not well understood.

  • Visitors are advised to act with caution.

In 788, a Zhodani-inspired insurrection took place in the Union of Garth, a region originally settled by Protectorate colonists. This rebellion resulted in the formation of the Four Worlds, a state which has maintained pro-Zhodani sympathies since gaining its independence from Garth.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Dloshl has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Dloshl has a population of 8,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Dloshl possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Dloshl is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.

  • The Four Worlds are governed by an impersonal bureaucracy headquartered on Uldor. Most of the population is satisfied with this arrangement and have no qualms about their friendship with the Zhodani.

World Law (L)[edit]

Dloshl has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: 4 (important)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: F (extremely abundant)
  • Labor: 8 (hundreds of millions)
  • Infrastructure: E (comprehensive)
  • Efficiency: +4 (advanced)

World Culture[edit]

The world lies within the Zhodani Shadow, a region strongly influenced by the society and culture of the Zhodani Consulate.

  • Heterogenity: 9 (discordant)
  • Acceptance: D (very xenophilic)
  • Strangeness: 5 (distinct)
  • Symbols: A (abstract)
