Description (Specifications)[edit]

(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)

The following astrographic and commercial data has been determined regarding the subsector:

Astrographic Features[edit]

The subsector is a generally unremarkable area lying within the Solomani Confederation.

  • It is a relatively low stellar density region.
  • The brightest star is the white main sequence primary of the Aguila system.

Stellar Distribution[edit]

A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Quesada Subsector, right:

  • The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
  • The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.

Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.

  • Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
  • Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.

Trade Routes[edit]

Simonides Run. (Chart sourced from Traveller Map).
Orizaba Cluster. (Chart sourced from Traveller Map).
Quesada Cluster. (Chart sourced from Traveller Map).
Severn Cluster. (Chart sourced from Traveller Map).

Multiple trade route cross the region. High cargo capacity, low jump rating vessels move along them, carrying huge amounts of goods and commodities between their member worlds.

Less profitable higher jump rating merchant vessels conduct trade and commerce among the region's outlying worlds.

Simonides Run[edit]

The Simonides Run has twelve member systems, making it one of the largest clusters within the sector. Its trailing end lies across the border between Quesada Subsector and Sephi Hydra Subsector.

Orizaba Cluster[edit]

The Orizaba Cluster has six member systems. It lies at the junction of Wovoka, Firdausi, Quesada, and Kursa Subsectors.

Quesada Cluster[edit]

The Quesada Cluster has eight member systems.

Severn Cluster[edit]

The Severn Cluster has five member systems and one associated system.

World Listing[edit]

Comprehensive Second Survey data for all worlds lying within Quesada Subsector is available.

  • The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.
  • Other sources may differ: some elements of the data may be contradictory or incorrect.
  • Data is occasionally updated as new information becomes available.

AAB library archives contain expanded data about the following systems:

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

During the Rule of Man the subsector was associated with the Terran Mercantile Community, a large paramilitary corporation that became the foundation for the Old Earth Union during the Long Night.

Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Confederation and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, but many see it as an act of duty to help protect the Solomani state and its interests.

Polity Listing[edit]

The following polities can be found within this subsector:

Security & Defense[edit]

The worlds of the region are patrolled by the Solomani Navy. It defends Confederation territory, protects Confederation interests, suppresses piracy, and ensures interstellar trade and commerce.

The Solomani Navy operates couriers and packet ships to carry communications and mail within the Confederation. Some of the routes they make use of predate the founding of the Solomani Autonomous Region in the early 8th Century, while others have more modern origins, being established following the Solomani Rim War and Solomani independence.

  • Multiple communications routes cross the subsector.

No Native Intelligent Lifeforms (sophont species) are believed to have originated within this subsector.

Subsector Summary[edit]

Quesada, subsector G of Aldebaran, contains 17 worlds with an estimated combined population of 49 billion, a per capita income of Cr10,388, and a total economy of BCr513,397. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr3,312 through 14 starports (4 Class A, 4 Class B, 5 Class C, 1 Class D) employing 534,090 people. Driving this interstellar trade are one Agricultural (Ag) world, no Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, two Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, no Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, one Rich (Ri) world, and two Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Quesada maintain three Naval bases and three Military bases. The average technology level is 9 (with most between 7 and 12). The highest technology level is 14 at Quesada (Aldebaran 2111).

Quesada, subsector G of Aldebaran, contains 23 stars and 178 identified planets; 11 monostellar systems, six binary systems, no trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 12 of the 17 systems (70%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, one Desert (De) world, one Garden (Ga) world, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, five Poor (Po) worlds, no Vacuum (Va) worlds, and no Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Quesada has an estimated population of 49 billion distributed across four High population (Hi) worlds, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, seven Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, three Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Quesada (Aldebaran 2111) and Yumuri (Aldebaran 2313). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.
