Canimar is a low-population world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in size.
- This world has yet to take off economically or otherwise and the population remains low for reasons largely unknown.
- It is a member of the Grand United States of Quesada, which is a member state of the Solomani Confederation, in the Quesada Subsector of Aldebaran Sector.
- This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
- This is a hot world, with a climate of high temperatures.
- It is a member of the Simonides Run.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x9 secondary rocky worlds.
- x3 planetoid belts.
- x3 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Canimar is tidally locked to its primary star.
- The star is always high in the sky on the bright face, it hangs on horizon in the twilight zone, while the cold dark face is in permanent darkness.
- The world experiences libration - a regular wobble - as it orbits, causing the star to move in the sky.
It orbits towards the inner edge of the primary star's habitable zone.
- It receives relatively high levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Canimar is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Canimar has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- It experiences high temperatures within the twilight zone.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Canimar has 65-75% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
The cold face is completely covered in frost and dense layers of ice that extends to the twilight zone and becomes a ring sea under the harsh glare of the red primary.
- Several mountain ranges cross the twilight zone.
(Blank map, predominantly watery world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Canimar is a member of the Simonides Run, a cluster and locally important trade route.
The Quesadan Inquisition is known to be active on the world. It is a religiously sponsored investigative agency that is charged with rooting out heretical thinking. It has the authority to detain and question individuals.
Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Confederation and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, but many see it as an act of duty to help protect the Solomani state and its interests.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Canimar has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Canimar has a population of 60 sophonts (tens).
- This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without significant outside assistance. This may represent a transient population such as the crew of a starship, the final survivors of a dying colony, an advance team setting up to receive colonists, or a small outpost where establishing a colony is not the primary objective.
- The population almost entirely consists of Solomani humans.
Urbanization[edit]
A large prefabricated base is located adjacent to the downport. It is designed to accommodate up to 500 personnel: entire sections remain empty.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Latin, an ancient Terran language used by the Church of Quesada.
- Quesadan Spanish, an Iberian Dialect of the Spanish subfamily of languages of Terran origin spoken principally in the Grand United States of Quesada.
- Rim Anglic, a dialect of Anglic and the principal language of the Confederation.
- It is a second language within the Grand United States.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Canimar possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Canimar has no central government or substantial government apparatus; an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
World Law (L)[edit]
Canimar has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.
