Glisten Subsector is Subsector O of the Spinward Marches.

Description (Physical Astrography)[edit]

The Glisten subsector is an isolated spur of the Imperial xboat network; until 940, it was a backwater for marginal officials of the Imperial bureaucracy. However, in 941 District 268 was opened by decree of Margaret II and has since served as a base for the colonization of the new territory. [1]

Glisten has emerged as one of the Marches' manufacturing centers, containing the three industrial worlds of Aki, Ffudn, and Glisten itself. [2]

  • The resources of the subsector are being exploited.

Astrographic Features[edit]

The following astrographic data has been determined regarding Glisten Subsector:

  • The subsector is a slightly below average stellar density region.
  • The brightest star is the red giant primary of the Crout system.

Stellar Distribution[edit]

A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Glisten Subsector.

  • The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
  • The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.

Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.

  • Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
  • Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.

Mains Clusters & Traces[edit]

Chart: Mains & Clusters

High cargo capacity, low jump rating vessels move along the clusters and traces of the sector, carrying vast amounts of goods and commodities between their member worlds. Jump-2 and Jump-3 feeder routes work their ways around the rifts and voids that dot the region, linking the various clusters and traces.

Mains[edit]

Main is an astrographic term for groups of 50 or more systems that are accessible by jump-1-capable starships.

Mains are highlighted in green: one main passes through the subsector.

Traces[edit]

Trace is an astrographic term for groups of between 5 and 10 systems that are accessible by jump-1-capable starships.

Traces are highlighted in brown: one trace-sized cluster of worlds lies within the subsector.

World Listing[edit]

Comprehensive Second Survey data for all worlds lying within Glisten Subsector is available.

  • The primary source material is the T5SS data and Traveller Map.
  • Data is occasionally updated as new information becomes available.
  • Older, incorrect, or outdated data is retained for reference.

AAB library archives contain expanded data about the following systems:

Glisten, subsector O of Spinward Marches, contains 29 worlds with an estimated combined population of 22 billion, a per capita income of Cr8,129, and a total economy of BCr182,365. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr1,533 through 23 starports (5 Class A, 5 Class B, 10 Class C, 3 Class D) employing 364,345 people. Driving this interstellar trade are four Agricultural (Ag) worlds, two Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, no Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, one Pre-Industrial (Pi) world, two Rich (Ri) worlds, and three Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Glisten maintain six Scout bases and five Naval bases. The average technology level is 8 (with most between 5 and 11). The highest technology level is 15 at Glisten (Spinward Marches 2036).

Glisten, subsector O of Spinward Marches, contains 41 stars and 316 identified planets; 17 monostellar systems, 12 binary systems, no trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 21 of the 29 systems (72%) have native gas giants. There are one Asteroid (As) belt, four Desert (De) worlds, one Garden (Ga) world, one Ice-capped (Ic) world, seven Poor (Po) worlds, three Vacuum (Va) worlds, and one Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) world.

Glisten has an estimated population of 22 billion distributed across four High population (Hi) worlds, four Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 19 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, one Low population (Lo) world, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Glisten (Spinward Marches 2036), Tirem (Spinward Marches 2233), Crout (Spinward Marches 2232), and Aki (Spinward Marches 2035). The population consists primarily of 4 sophont groups including one native sophont.
