System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Trane orbits within its star's habitable zone.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Trane is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Trane has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Trane has 85-95% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few small continents, and a number of islands and archipelagos. Dry land is limited. Wilderness refueling is possible.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Trane exports locally manufactured firearms and similar products geared to the paramilitary market.

In the 1100s, there were rumors that the government of Trane had issued letters of marque to corsairs operating from the Outrim Void.

This world contains an archaeological site believed to be associated with the now-vanished Ancients precursor race.

This world is a member of the County of Bellion.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Trane has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)[edit]

Trane has a population of 70,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The following languages are most commonly heard:

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Trane possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Trane is governed by a Participatory Democracy where eligible voters determine laws and policy. What determines an eligible voter varies. There may be smaller councils or regional bodies to draft the policies voted upon. Leadership of the government and all members of the bureaucracy are determined by the voting population.

World Law (L)[edit]

Trane has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Portable energy weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.

Imperial Landed Nobility[edit]

Trane, as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world.

Marquess Jyoti Sharmirrisharma of Trane is of old Vilani nobility, her bloodline running unbroken through thousands of years, dating to the First Imperium. She has inherited tremendous wealth but has come to the realisation that her levers of power are mostly ceremonial. Jyoti has little sway over the participatory democracy of her own fief and none at all over worlds in its immediate vicinity. Frustrated by the Imperium's hands-off approach, she founded the bounty hunting organization, the Order of the Dove and Thorn. Members swear to uphold truth, champion justice, defend the weak and safeguard sentient life. Bounty hunters with the Order of the Dove and Thorn are hand-picked by the Marquess herself or head-hunted by a trusted agent from her Hurscarles regiment.
