System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Wurzburg orbits within its star's habitable zone.

Chart Orbit HZ Region Simple.png

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Wurzburg is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Wurzburg has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. While a Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

  • It experiences moderate to high temperatures.
  • The world has a high oxygen taint: oxygen makes up more than 30% of the atmospheric composition by volume.
    • Fire burns intensely in the world's atmosphere, as long as it has fuel.
  • Humans breathing the atmosphere without using protective equipment experience severe oxygen narcosis.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Wurzburg has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Wurzburg is a Danger World and is designated as an Amber Zone. It presents particular risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that are not well understood.

  • Visitors are advised to act with caution.

Colonized in 96 by the misjumped Neo-Germanic emigrant ship Wurzburg from Ephraim in Diaspora Sector. The world regressed technologically, but managed to hang on to industrial technology and never quite lost contact with the rest of the universe. [2]

The world is a dying colony with no effective government and virtually nonexistent laws. Its anarchic, violent conditions resulted in its designation as an amber zone. [3]

World Starport (St)[edit]

Wurzburg has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)[edit]

Wurzburg has a population of 5,000 sophonts (thousands).

  • This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without a little outside assistance. This may represent the home base of a sizable but mostly transient population such as the base of a major starship expedition, the last generation of a dying colony, the first generation of a new colony, or a large outpost that will probably evolve into a colony if not stopped.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The following languages are most commonly heard:

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Wurzburg possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Wurzburg has no central government or substantial government apparatus; an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.

World Law (L)[edit]

Wurzburg has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.

Imperial Landed Nobility[edit]

Wurzburg, as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world.
