Epshu Subsector is subsector G of Zarushagar Sector.
- It is an Imperial core region that has been settled for millennia.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
The following astrographic and commercial data has been determined regarding Epshu Subsector:
Astrographic Features[edit]
The subsector is a generally unremarkable area lying within the Imperial Core.
- It is an average stellar density region.
- The brightest star is the red giant primary of the Port Artemus system.
Stellar Distribution[edit]
A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Epshu Subsector.
- The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
- The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)
Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.
- Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
- Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.
Economic Astrography[edit]
Corporations[edit]
Corporations and organizations active within the subsector include:
- Akagi Transport, a major transport and logistics corporation.
- General Products, an Imperial megacorporation involved in heavy industry and manufacturing.
- Hortalez et Cie, an Imperial megacorporation specializing in banking and finance.
- Ling Standard Products, an Imperial megacorporation engaged in widescale resource extraction and processing.

- SuSAG, an Imperial megacorporation specializing in commercial chemistry, pharmaceuticals, and genetic engineering.
- Tukera Lines, an Imperial megacorporation specializing in transport and logistics.
- Zirunkariish, a Vilani megacorporation specializing in investment, finance, and insurance.
Trade Routes[edit]
A number of important trade routes lie within the region. High cargo capacity, low jump rating vessels moving along them, carrying vast amounts of goods and commodities between their member worlds.
The Mains and Clusters that lie within the subsector are referred to as The Network.
Greater Massilia Main[edit]
The Epshu Cluster of the Greater Massilia Main occupies the trailing half of the subsector.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map).
- Worlds on the Main are highlighted in green.
Khipge Line[edit]
The Khipge Line is a cluster with 20 member systems. It is named for the Khipge Subsector.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)
- Worlds within the Line are highlighted in tan.
Schmidt Cluster[edit]
The Schmidt Cluster has 18 member systems. It is named for Schmidt, lying at its far trailing end.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)
- Worlds within the Cluster are highlighted in tan.
Security & Defense[edit]
The worlds of the region are patrolled by the Imperial Navy. It defends Imperial territory and interests, suppresses piracy, and ensures trade and commerce.
- The Imperial 240th Fleet is active within the subsector.
- Imperial vessels may demand customs inspections.
World Listing[edit]
Comprehensive Second Survey data for all worlds lying within Epshu Subsector is available.
- The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.
- Other sources may differ: some elements of the data may be contradictory or incorrect.
- Data is occasionally updated as new information becomes available.
AAB library archives contain expanded data about the following systems:
Note that some Second Survey data, though only 40 years old, may already be out of date.
- Scouting missions gathering reliable, verified data can receive substantial payment.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The high number of agricultural worlds along the Greater Massilia Main help provide the subsector capital of Epshu -- a desert world of 9 billion people -- with the necessities of life.
Polity Listing[edit]
The following polities can be found within this subsector:
Demographics[edit]
Significant populations of the following races (sophont species) reside within this area:
- Humaniti (Human races)

Subsector Summary[edit]
Epshu, subsector G of Zarushagar contains 36 worlds with an estimated population of 9 billion, a per capita income of Cr4,249, and a total economy is BCr41,810. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr600 through 34 starports (9 Class A, 20 Class B, 3 Class C, 2 Class D) employing 105,720 people. Driving this interstellar trade are four Agricultural (Ag) worlds, six Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, one Pre-Agricultural (Pa) world, one Pre-Industrial (Pi) world, two Rich (Ri) worlds, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in Epshu maintain nine Naval bases, three Scout bases, and one Naval depot. The average technology level is 11 (with most between 9 and 13). The highest technology level is 14 at Angmar (Zarushagar 2213), Sirgol (Zarushagar 2320), and Komo Niva (Zarushagar 2412).
Epshu, subsector G of Zarushagar contains 48 stars and 374 identified planets; 25 monostellar systems, ten binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 33 of the 36 systems (91%) have native gas giants. There are one Asteroid (As) belt, one Desert (De) world, three Garden (Ga) worlds, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, six Poor (Po) worlds, ten Vacuum (Va) worlds, and three Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.
