Extolian Sector is an older and well established part of the Hive Federation. It is famed as an industrial powerhouse with renowned theatres, incredibly advanced robots, and luxurious artistic exports.

Meta-History & Background[edit]

Extolian Sector was originally designed by Leroy W. L. Guatney.

  • Traveller author and fan Leroy W. L. Guatney developed many materials for this sector, at his fan site called the Federation Development Agency, which have not been declared canon to date.
  • It has been announced that Mongoose Publishing is developing a new Hiver book.

  1. In 1984, K'kree (Alien Module) was published.
  2. In 1986, Hivers (Alien Module) was published.
  3. In 2000, GURPS Traveller: Alien Races 3 was published.

  • -4100: Hiver explorers discover Loza'tch and the Za'tachk civilization.
  • -4050: An exploratory Hiver vessel arrives in the Ofilaq system and discovers the Gurvin.
  • -3986: The Hivers are shocked to encounter the Ithklur, a race far more violent than any encountered previously.
  • -3548: Eager to present a united front to acquire jump-2 drive from the Hivers, the Gurvin form the Gurvin Interstellar Democratic Republic and make an official request to join the nascent Hive Federation and be provided with jump-2. The Hivers declare the Gurvin an "adult" species and agree.
  • Circa -2900: After a millennium of Manipulation, the Ithklur take their place as an important member of the Hiver interstellar community.
