Subsector J of Extolian Sector, a border of the Hive Federation.

Description[edit]

A main crosses the subsector trailing-spinward, extending into Extolade Subsector. It passes beyond the Hive Federation border, but the Hivers have moved down it, with one system a client state and two being developed by the FDA. The worlds of Druacogeuno (Extolian 0926) and Dral Phlinskwal (Extolian 0927) are both regressed societies, the two surviving pockets of the Phlinskwal sophont race. Having all but destroyed themselves in a long-ago war, the species -- having reclaimed only TL-4 on one world, barely TL-1 on the other -- is being shepherded carefully by the FDA, preparing them for eventual incorporation into the Hive. The Phlinskwal on Dral Phlinskwal, living in the few bunkers that remain secure on this now-dead world, are still rather violent, and Ithklur are stationed there.

Subsector Summary: 1116[edit]

Re Naka, subsector J of Extolian, contains 27 worlds with an estimated combined population of 394 million, a per capita income of Cr2,774, and a total economy of BCr1,093. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr33 through 21 starports (8 Class A, 5 Class B, 6 Class C, 2 Class D) employing 8,310 people. Driving this interstellar trade are four Agricultural (Ag) worlds, one Non-Agricultural (Na) world, two Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, one Pre-Industrial (Pi) world, three Rich (Ri) worlds, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Re Naka maintain five Military bases, three Naval bases, and two Hiver Embassies. The average technology level is 8 (with most between 4 and 12). The highest technology level is 14 at Donovor (Extolian 1025), Eonmenusk (Extolian 1124), and Quvint II (Extolian 1624).

Re Naka, subsector J of Extolian, contains 42 stars and 280 identified planets; 12 monostellar systems, 15 binary systems, no trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 19 of the 27 systems (70%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, two Desert (De) worlds, three Garden (Ga) worlds, two Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, six Poor (Po) worlds, five Vacuum (Va) worlds, and no Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Re Naka has an estimated population of 394 million distributed across no High population (Hi) worlds, one Moderate population (Ph) world, ten Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, ten Low population (Lo) worlds, and one Barren (Ba) world. The highest population world is Iresk (Extolian 1326). The population consists primarily of 6 sophont groups including three native sophonts.

Hive Federation[edit]

The Hive Federation has jurisdiction over 19 worlds in the subsector with an estimated combined population of 390 million, a per capita income of Cr2,800, and a total economy of BCr1,092. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr33 through 15 starports (7 Class A, 2 Class B, 5 Class C, 1 Class D) employing 8,295 people. Driving this interstellar trade are three Agricultural (Ag) worlds, one Non-Agricultural (Na) world, one Pre-Agricultural (Pa) world, one Pre-Industrial (Pi) world, three Rich (Ri) worlds, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in the Hive Federation maintain four Military bases, two Hiver Embassies, and one Naval base within the subsector. The average technology level is 9 (with most between 5 and 12). The highest technology level is 14 at Eonmenusk (Extolian 1124) and Quvint II (Extolian 1624).

The Hive Federation has an estimated population of 390 million within the subsector, distributed across no High population (Hi) worlds, one Moderate population (Ph) world, six Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, eight Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Iresk (Extolian 1326). The population consists primarily of 4 sophont groups including two native sophonts.

Non-Aligned, unclaimed[edit]

There are two Non-Aligned unclaimed worlds in Re Naka with an estimated combined population of less than 1 million.

Hive FDA extra-Federation operation[edit]

The Federation Development Agency, extra-Federation operation, has jurisdiction over two worlds in the subsector with an estimated combined population of 4 million, a per capita income of Cr250, and a total economy of BCr1. Driving this economy are no Agricultural (Ag) worlds, no Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, no Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, no Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, no Rich (Ri) worlds, and no Industrial (In) worlds.

The Hive FDA extra-Federation operation has an estimated population of 4 million within the subsector, distributed across no High population (Hi) worlds, no Moderate population (Ph) worlds, two Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, no Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Druacogeuno (Extolian 0926). The population consists primarily of 3 sophont groups including one native sophont.

Non-aligned[edit]

There are two Non-aligned worlds in Re Naka with an estimated combined population of less than 1 million.

Client state, Hive Federation[edit]

The Client states of the Hive Federation in Re Naka encompass two worlds with an estimated combined population of less than 1 million.

    • Hive Federation Client State: Flandry (Extolian 1022) and Cameron (Extolian 1126)

Native Sophonts (NILs): 1105[edit]

The following races (sophont species) are believed to have originated in this area:

  • Non-Human Races
    • Cua of Datix Cua: A very low population of this strange race live on their hellish homeworld. They are in contact with the Hivers.
    • Oskac of Oskac: This TL-2 race is being observed by the FDA uplift teams.
    • Phlinskwal of Dral Phlinskwal: This violent race all but destroyed itself long ago. The only surviving populations are on the now almost lifeless homeworld (less than 300,000 in closed bunkers, reduced to stone age conditions) and a TL-4 remnant of 4,000,000 -- the future of the race -- on Druacogeuno.

Demographics: 1105[edit]

Significant populations of the following races (sophont species) reside within this area:

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The following languages are among the most commonly used within this astrographic region:

  • Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium and common to many human worlds; in this region, mostly variant dialects.
  • Gurvin: The common language of the Hive Federation and a secondary language in many of its client states.
  • Hiver Sign Language: The silent, visual language used naturally by Hivers.
  • Ithkluri: The common language of the Ithklur, and used in conjunction with Gurvin throughout the Hive Federation and adjacent space.
