Glisten Subsector is Subsector O of the Spinward Marches.
- It lies within the Imperial Domain of Deneb.
Description (Physical Astrography)
The Glisten subsector is an isolated spur of the Imperial xboat network; until 940, it was a backwater for marginal officials of the Imperial bureaucracy. However, in 941 District 268 was opened by decree of Margaret II and has since served as a base for the colonization of the new territory. [1]
Glisten has emerged as one of the Marches' manufacturing centers, containing three industrial worlds of Aki, Ffudn, and Glisten. [2]
Astrographic Features
The following astrographic data has been determined regarding Glisten Subsector:
- The subsector is a slightly below average stellar density region.
- The brightest star is the red giant primary of the Crout system.
Stellar Distribution
A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Glisten Subsector.
- The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
- The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)
Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.
- Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
- Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.
Trade Routes
The Spinward Main
The Spinward Main is the arterial trade route within the Spinward Marches.
High cargo capacity, low jump rating vessels laden with goods, commodities, and luxuries move along it, bound for the thriving markets of its member worlds.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)
- Worlds on the Main are marked in green.
Glisten Arm
The Spinward Main has one major branch within the region: the Glisten Arm.

These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr1,533 through 23 starports (5 Class A, 5 Class B, 10 Class C, 3 Class D) employing 364,345 people. Driving this interstellar trade are four Agricultural (Ag) worlds, two Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, no Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, one Pre-Industrial (Pi) world, two Rich (Ri) worlds, and three Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Glisten maintain six Scout bases and five Naval bases. The average technology level is 8 (with most between 5 and 11). The highest technology level is 15 at Glisten (Spinward Marches 2036).
Glisten, subsector O of Spinward Marches, contains 41 stars and 316 identified planets; 17 monostellar systems, 12 binary systems, no trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 21 of the 29 systems (72%) have native gas giants. There are one Asteroid (As) belt, four Desert (De) worlds, one Garden (Ga) world, one Ice-capped (Ic) world, seven Poor (Po) worlds, three Vacuum (Va) worlds, and one Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) world.
