Nikhigireki Subsector is Subsector P of Gzaekfueg Sector.

Description / Specifications

Nikhigireki Subsector continues to be a battlefield between Vargr and humans, with much of its territory controlled by the Vargr-hating Third Empire of Gashikan.

  • The resources of the subsector are being exploited.

Astrographic Features & Trade Routes

The following astrographic and commercial data has been determined regarding Nikhigireki Subsector:

  • The subsector is a standard stellar density region.
  • The brightest star is the blue-white main sequence primary of the Oensiatiot system.

Stellar Distribution

A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Nikhigireki Subsector.

  • The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
  • The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.

Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.

  • Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
  • Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.

Trade Routes

The Nudashiir Lagani

The majority of the subsector's worlds lie on the Nudashiir Lagani, the great Lishun-Gashikan Main.

  • An eclectic mix of vessels, both human and Vargr, work their ways along the Main, carrying vast amounts of goods and commodities between its member worlds.

  • Worlds on the Main are highlighted in green.

The Last Bridge

A single world on the coreward edge of the subsector is a member of The Last Bridge, a war-ravaged chain of systems with a dark reputation for espionage and intrigue. It is known as the Lluutan to the Vargr.

Subsector Summary

Nikhigireki, subsector P of Gzaekfueg, contains 37 worlds with an estimated combined population of 25 billion, a per capita income of Cr3,242, and a total economy of BCr81,918. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr33 through 31 starports (2 Class A, 4 Class B, 17 Class C, 8 Class D) employing 4,025 people. Driving this interstellar trade are six Agricultural (Ag) worlds, six Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, no Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, no Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, two Rich (Ri) worlds, and three Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Nikhigireki maintain seven Military bases, five Scout bases, four Naval bases, three Corsair bases, and one Way station. The average technology level is 6 (with most between 3 and 9). The highest technology level is 12 at Ksoegusnoeks (Gzaekfueg 2638).

Nikhigireki, subsector P of Gzaekfueg, contains 53 stars; 21 monostellar systems, 16 binary systems, no trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 29 of the 37 systems (78%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, four Desert (De) worlds, no Garden (Ga) worlds, one Ice-capped (Ic) world, five Poor (Po) worlds, three Vacuum (Va) worlds, and four Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Nikhigireki has an estimated population of 25 billion distributed across four High population (Hi) worlds, no Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 25 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, eight Low population (Lo) worlds, and one Barren (Ba) world. The highest population worlds are Ksoegusnoeks (Gzaekfueg 2638), Lodaeegzzuen (Gzaekfueg 2536), Tongati (Gzaekfueg 2935), and Tsaeousorrg (Gzaekfueg 2940). The population consists primarily of 2 sophont groups.

Third Empire of Gashikan

The Third Empire of Gashikan has jurisdiction over 24 worlds in the subsector with an estimated combined population of 5 billion, a per capita income of Cr3,327, and a total economy of BCr17,381. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr6 through 19 starports (1 Class A, 3 Class B, 10 Class C, 5 Class D) employing 885 people. Driving this interstellar trade are two Agricultural (Ag) worlds, two Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, no Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, no Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, two Rich (Ri) worlds, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in the Third Empire of Gashikan maintain seven Military bases, five Scout bases, one Naval base, and one Way station within the subsector. The average technology level is 6 (with most between 4 and 9). The highest technology level is 11 at Tongati (Gzaekfueg 2935), Saha (Gzaekfueg 3139), and Eri (Gzaekfueg 3231).

The state of war between the Ruler of Five and the Third Empire of Gashikan has taken a turn into the private sectors of trade and commerce. Corporate wars are the majority of conflict in Nikhirgireki Subsector. Worlds on both sides of the two-parsec border vie for the trade contracts out of Meshan and Meshan Sectors. Espionage, sabotage and other dirty tricks perpetrated upon the economy create a roller coaster ride in the markets with all involved packing antacids before entering the bargaining pits.

The wild card in this commercial tit-for-tat comes in the form of new arrivals, the Irilitok from the Julian Protectorate. For a few years now, Red Zoned Tsaeousorrg (Gzaekfueg 2940) has stunned the surrounding worlds by allowing an Irilitok sub-species embassy to open. Corporations, trade liners and even the Menderes Corporation is looking at projected yields if the Urzaeng prove themselves as amicable trade partners. If so, then Tsaeousorrg will become rich acting as the bottleneck between the Urzaeng and Irilitok a fact that is not lost on the Third Empire of Gashikan who are moving swiftly to poison the meeting of the minds involved.
