Siigikhakma Subsector is Subsector L of Gzaekfueg Sector.
- It lies within Charted Space.
- It is part of the Vargr Extents.
Description / Specifications[edit]
Siigikhakma Subsector is a populated and prosperous region considered to be a part of the Vargr Extents, even though most of its territory is controlled by the Vargr-hating Third Empire of Gashikan.
- The resources of the subsector are being exploited.
Astrographic Features & Trade Routes[edit]
The following astrographic and commercial data has been determined regarding Siigikhakma Subsector:
- The subsector is a standard stellar density region.
- The brightest star is the white subgiant primary of the Laniht system.
- Important trade routes within the region include the Lishun-Gashikan Main and the so-called Last Bridge.
Stellar Distribution[edit]
A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Siigikhakma Subsector.
- The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
- The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map).
Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.
- Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
- Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.
Trade Routes[edit]
The Nudashiir Lagani[edit]
Two worlds within the coreward part of the subsector lie on the Nudashiir Lagani, the great Lishun-Gashikan Main.
- An eclectic mix of vessels, both human and Vargr, work their ways along the Main, carrying vast amounts of goods and commodities between its member worlds.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)
- Worlds on the Main are highlighted in green.
The Last Bridge[edit]
The Last Bridge, a war-ravaged chain of systems with a dark reputation for espionage and intrigue, dominates the subsector. It is known as the Lluutan to the Vargr.
- It is a small Main with 28 member systems.
- It runs between the Ruler of Five and the Third Empire of Gashikan, following a route through Balkanized Space.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)
- Worlds lying on the Main are highlighted in tan.
World Listing[edit]
AAB library archives contain expanded data about the following systems:
- The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.
- Other sources may contain contradictory or incorrect information.
Note that some Second Survey data, though only 40 years old, is likely to be out of date.
- Data is occasionally updated as new information becomes available.
- Scouting missions gathering reliable, verified data can receive substantial payment.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The Vilani had contact with the Gvegh, Aekhu and Logaksu before -2400 in regions such as Provence Sector, though the Vargr were initially seen more as a curiosity than a threat. The Vargr in turn learned of the vast, immensely wealthy, and militarily weak human empire, a temptation that was impossible for them to ignore. Within a few decades the Vargr were actively raiding Vilani settlements in Windhorn and Corridor Sectors. The Vilani in turn moved the majority of their defenses towards these areas.
Other Vargr racial groups (the proto-Irilitok, Ovaghoun, Suedzuk and Urzaeng) took longer to find a path around the coreward end of the Windhorn Rift, but when routes were eventually found they made a beeline for the poorly defended coreward edge of the Ziru Sirka and its riches. These regions, already stripped of their meager defenses to prop up sectors further to spinward, were easy prey for the new waves of Vargr. The vast distances the Vargr had to travel limited the numbers of raiders who actually reached the Ziru Sirka: substantially more Vargr found promising worlds en route and decided to settle them instead.
The so-called Last Bridge, a short, Jump-1 bridge of worlds between the Ruler of Five and the Third Empire of Gashikan is the thickest hornets' nest of trade, smuggling, espionage, piracy and outright war in Gzaekfueg Sector. So indecisive is the environment of the Lluutan (tr: ford) that no vessels on this tiny main can trust the IFF transponders of ships encountered outside 100 Diameters of any given world. Often visuals on sensors must be attained before comms are opened for parley or shots are fired in wartime conflict. This gives rise to some "point-blank exchanges" between navies, the likes which are normally only seen on holovid productions.
More successful, Jump-2 starships seek secondary crossings further rimward across the gap between borders. Crews of such smugglers conceal their registries with fake, dual citizenships and rotating their racial crew makeups to deceive patrols and system traffic control signals. A tramp trader might have an Urzaeng Vargr crew on worlds to spinward and then temporarily yield command to the Humans aboard the same ship while trailing in the Third Empire of Gashikan. The tactic has so far yielded results even if it tries the Charisma and emulated-Charisma of the sophonts on such two-faced traders.
