Subsector I of Gashikan Sector.

Description[edit]

During the Rule of Man and through much of the Long Night, this was known as the Izar Subsector. When shifts in internal power within the Second Empire of Gashikan saw Vilani-Yilean influence replace Solomani, the name changed.

The subsector is noted for the Union of Yoetyqq. The modern Union is a pitiful shadow of the nation that held out for so long against the Yileans; it is now a Vargr "homeland" polity totally dominated by the Third Empire of Gashikan.

Summary[edit]

Ishigisi, subsector I of Gashikan contains 41 worlds with an estimated population of 41 billion, a per capita income of Cr2,870, and a total economy is BCr118,266. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr221 through 36 starports (6 Class A, 8 Class B, 15 Class C, 7 Class D) employing 28,575 people. Driving this interstellar trade are five Agricultural (Ag) worlds, eight Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, four Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, five Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, six Rich (Ri) worlds, and two Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Ishigisi maintain 13 Scout bases, and nine Naval bases. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 5 and 10). The highest technology level is 12 at Amlizigar (Gashikan 0123), Gisu (Gashikan 0124), Akhikirimgu (Gashikan 0622), Igepmagagi (Gashikan 0623), Ukhikidir (Gashikan 0629), and Ligar (Gashikan 0630).

Ishigisi, subsector I of Gashikan contains 70 stars and 460 identified planets; 25 monostellar systems, 11 binary systems, one trinary system, and four systems with four or more stars. 34 of the 41 systems (82%) have native gas giants. There are one Asteroid (As) belt, five Desert (De) worlds, three Garden (Ga) worlds, two Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, ten Poor (Po) worlds, three Vacuum (Va) worlds, and five Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Ishigisi has an estimated population of 41 billion distributed across six High population (Hi) worlds, six Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 17 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, five Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Ekkhi (Gashikan 0225), Giinashsa (Gashikan 0522), Shaazan (Gashikan 0725), Khikhakam (Gashikan 0121), Amlizigar (Gashikan 0123), and Aala (Gashikan 0421). The population consists of 2 sophont groups.

Third Empire of Gashikan[edit]

The Third Empire of Gashikan has jurisdiction over 37 worlds with an estimated population of 29 billion, a per capita income of Cr2,931, and a total economy is BCr85,331. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr198 through 33 starports (6 Class A, 7 Class B, 14 Class C, 6 Class D) employing 25,520 people. Driving this interstellar trade are five Agricultural (Ag) worlds, six Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, four Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, four Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, six Rich (Ri) worlds, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in Third Empire of Gashikan maintain 12 Scout bases, and eight Naval bases.

The Third Empire of Gashikan has an estimated population of 29 billion distributed across four High population (Hi) worlds, four Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 17 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, five Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Ekkhi (Gashikan 0225), Shaazan (Gashikan 0725), Khikhakam (Gashikan 0121), and Amlizigar (Gashikan 0123). The population consists of 1 sophont groups.

Union of Yoetyqq[edit]

The Union of Yoetyqq has jurisdiction over four worlds with an estimated population of 12 billion, a per capita income of Cr2,721, and a total economy is BCr32,935. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr22 through 3 starports (0 Class A, 1 Class B, 1 Class C, 1 Class D) employing 3,055 people. Driving this interstellar trade are no Agricultural (Ag) worlds, two Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, no Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, one Pre-Industrial (Pi) world, no Rich (Ri) worlds, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in Union of Yoetyqq maintain one Naval base, and one Scout base. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 6 and 9). The highest technology level is 9 at Giinashsa (Gashikan 0522).

The Union of Yoetyqq has an estimated population of 12 billion distributed across two High population (Hi) worlds, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, no Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, no Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Giinashsa (Gashikan 0522) and Aala (Gashikan 0421). The population consists of 1 sophont groups.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The modern Union of Yoetyqq, a poor shadow of what it was centuries ago, is a Vargr "homeland" polity totally dominated by the Third Empire of Gashikan. All military capability is in the hands of Gashikan humans, as is all interstellar capability operating to worlds outside the Union. The few in-Union starships that are permitted are secondhand and substandard, with crushing mortgages and restricted availability of parts.

The Union government, and all of the planetary governments, are directly monitored by Humans assigned by the Empire; this is generally perceived as a punishment posting, and as a result, the assigned monitors are often cruel and/or uncaring, enforcing Empire policy without regard for the well-being of the governed. The result is frequent uprisings which are bloodily put down by the Human military units stationed in the Union (which are also often perceived as punishment postings).

Technological progress is strictly controlled; no imports of TL greater than 9 are permitted, and local technological development beyond TL8 is forbidden on three of the four worlds in the Union; on Giinashsa , the "capital", some development into TL9 is permitted to allow limited maintenance of the few starships permitted the Union.

The Empire also uses the Union as a dumping ground for some Vargr criminals, often after lobotomizing them into idiocy. As a result, all of the worlds have comparatively high populations with low economic productivity; the standard of living for most residents of the Union is often barely above the minimum for sustaining life.

The Ishigisi Subsector contains 41 worlds with a population of 41.2 billion. The highest population is 9 billion, at Ekkhi. The highest tech level is C at Amliziga.
