Description (Specifications)

The Urzaeng are one of the few distinct Vargr subspecies (not merely ethnicities) known to the average Imperial citizen, and the only subspecies that were not outcast by Vargr society, due to their superior physical prowess. Urzaeng average 1.85-1.90 meters in height and mass 70-80 kilograms. They are more powerfully built than the average Human and are physically a match against an adult Aslan.

The Urzaeng were originally bred by the Ancients for heavy labor and combat; their increased physical prowess comes at a cost to their mental characteristics. This has resulted in the Urzaeng being a naturally violent people with contempt for weakness.

Psychology and Value Systems

Urzaeng are psychologically as well as physically distinct. Whereas most Vargr are gregarious and operate in packs, Urzaeng are highly territorial, typically preferring their own company. Their communities are spread out, with fences and walls marking boundaries. On Urzaeng-built spacecraft, staterooms are single occupant.

Urzaeng are known to hold weakness in contempt. Runts, elderly, and the chronically ill are usually collected into separate communities.
