Roulnoul is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a member of the Ruler of Five in the Nikhigireki Subsector of Gzaekfueg Sector, which is part of the Vargr Extents.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below technology standards for Charted Space.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Roulnoul is a binary star system.
- The primary is an orange main sequence.
- The secondary is a brown dwarf substellar object.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x5 secondary rocky worlds.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Roulnoul is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Roulnoul has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Roulnoul has 35-45% of its surface covered by liquid water. There will be a number of small seas or one larger body of water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Roulnoul is a low-tech colony world of Ksoegusnoeks. The thin atmosphere is just forgiving enough to allow the Vargr resident here to breathe without compressors. Those travellers visiting the downport find they are nestled in a chasm canyon below sea level which thickens the air just enough for comfort.
Roulnoul is a provincial and almost pastoral, backwoods world with farms dotting the Size 7 world. Exported foods to Ksoegusnoeks ensures the Colony may rest easily at TL-3 with a few imported machines to ease harvests and ranching.
Under this blanket of agriculture hides the Roulnoul Society of Psions, a sub-collegiate Psionic Institute that has a steady stream of students. Unlike the Collegia on Lodaeegzzuen, the Society does not have stringent criteria to attain to be tested and trained in a stage of psionics. Yet, the Society does secretly share in the shame of gleaning its curriculum from the same texts and materials stolen from Ellee (Gzaekfueg 3236) as Lodaeegzzuen. Roulnoul was fooled by the corsairs who made copies of their stolen texts and exercises into believing they were being sold the originals. And like the Society, the Vargr agrarians sat on the purchase, letting psionics gather dust as it slowly came into vogue.
Interviewed students from Ksoegusnoeks and Charisma washouts from Lodaeegzzuen come to Roulnoul to complete a Stage of psionics education. The proximity of the two Psionic Institutes are the closest in Gzaekfueg Sector and often students will try to attend both if Charisma allows. Per contract with its owning world, Roulnoul must charge the same testing and training tuition as Lodaeegzzuen, even if the Collegia garners more prestige from the public in the know.
- Roulnoul Society of Psions-9, like the Lodaeegzzuen Collegia of Psionics selects its applicant students from those vetted by the Colony Owners on Ksoegusnoeks (Gzaekfueg 2638), without advertising directly.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Roulnoul has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Roulnoul has a population of 2,000,000 sophonts (millions).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- The population entirely consists of Vargr.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Roulnoul possesses a Technology Level of TL–3.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Printing press, the mechanical telegraph, and the first audio recordings.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Coal or other simple hydrocarbon fuels and early steam engines.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Bicycles and early steam coaches with advanced roadways.
- Water: Advanced sailing and early steam engine ships.
- Air: The earliest hot air balloons.
World Government (G)[edit]
Roulnoul has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
World Law (L)[edit]
Roulnoul has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Light assault weapons, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
