Mainworld Data[edit]

Wokova is an Terra-like garden world, of similar size, ocean-coverage, and gravity orbiting at 0.92 AU, towards the colder edge of the life zone. The thicker atmosphere allows Wovoka to maintain mostly moderate temperatures.

The Wokovan Moon orbits more closely than that of Terra, but the similarities are striking.

Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]

There are 6 large contiguous continents, numerous mountain ranges, and large ice caps covering most of the 2 polar continents.

World Starport[edit]

Wovoka has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

Wokova maintains 2 high ports, commercial and official-military.

  • Kiba
  • Etsa'a

All inbound traffic is required to make port at Kiba for customs and approval to continue onward.

World Technology Level[edit]

Wovoka possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.

Wovoka has economic elements that operate in advance of this rating, but it is not possible to confirm current progress. The current scant evidence indicates advanced research into Jump technologies and hyper-efficient M-drive propulsion.

World Government[edit]

Wovoka is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. The bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucracy or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence like the military.

World Law Level[edit]

Wovoka has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

World Military[edit]

Wovoka maintains a Starnavy with a dedicated Starmarine force, a wet Navy with its own marine forces, and a land-based Army. The Army, while adequately equipped, is largely dedicated to disaster relief and emergency response. Wovoka also has a considerable set of special forces teams.

The world-net notes 2 system fleets:

  • Outer Fleet: 2 - 4 destroyer-class capitol ships, 6+ heavy cruisers, and the newly commissioned Sequoyah battleship. Details are scarce, but given local media and fiction pattern analysis, it is likely that the navy uses Terran missile-boat philosophies combined with the spinal-mount meson weaponry historically used by Terran forces on their capital ships.
  • Inner Fleet: 5 dedicated destroyers with associated SDC craft. 2 Sequoyah-class battleships (under construction?), and upward of 10 heavy-cruiser missile boats.

World Economy[edit]

A large agricultural, aquacultural, and game meats economy exists on Wovoka, in addition to a rapidly advancing technological and engineering base. While currently rated at Tech-C, Wovokan technology has some areas that seem to be nearing Tech-F. The technological-industrial bases on the Moon are largely forbidden to travellers except by invitation. That said, sensor readings indicate advanced Jump research is being performed.

Wovoka has also leveraged its historic tradition of herbalism and natural knowledge to make rapid advances in the production of Anagathic compounds.

Trade Data[edit]

World Demographics[edit]

World Culture[edit]

Wovoka was originally settled by a group made of distinct, ancient tribal groups of Terra. The majority identify with tribal nations from the Terran North American region, but other historical indigenous tribal groups also emigrated here. These cultures have a remarkable focus on traditional ethics and morality, with few of the extremist elements often found in some cultural groups. Note that not all Terran tribal groups settled Wovoka, preferring to claim other systems in the Arch.

The name "Wovoka" is a historical reference to an ancient Terran shaman, who started a resistance effort by developing a cultural touch-stone called "The Ghost Dance". There is considerable material available in the Wovoka worldnet at:

  • tupoone://wokova.gov/histnet/wokova.vr

Notably, an uberpod of dolphin colonists is included as a officially recognized tribal nation, with full representation.

Urbanization[edit]

The peoples of Wovoka make a consistent effort to minimize any harmful impact to their adopted mother. Even their largest urban areas take great technological and architectural care to integrate not only nature, but to leave intact as much of the major plant life as possible. Some peoples attempt to recreate (to an extent) the ways of their Terran ancestors, and have been breeding herds of Terran herd-beasts to aid in that aim, as there were no such fauna originally on Wovoka.

Modern power sources are utilized strategically to allow an advanced technological society to flourish.

The Wovokan capitol city is located on the largest continent, Cherokee, and is named:

  • Sequoyah

Each continent has its own capitol and downport. The downport and its startown are always separate from the capitol, but usually connected by high-speed rail.

The dolphin nation is centered around a 3-island archipelago, which includes a dolphin-friendly downport and waterway connections, including speed tubes, to the aqualogies.
