Europa is a high-population, pre-rich garden world with a billion or more sophonts in population size, and a near-ideal utopian environment conducive to most sophonts, but still lacks adequate population to expand its economy to a rich status.
- Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
- It is a member of the Solomani Confederation in the Wovoka Subsector of Aldebaran Sector.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
- This world is home to a small community of Dolphins.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Europa has a solitary primary star.
- It is a yellow main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x4 secondary rocky worlds.
- x3 planetoid belts.
- x2 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Europa orbits within the prime region of its star's habitable zone.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Europa is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Europa has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.
- It experiences generally moderate temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Europa has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
Europa has significant icepacks, and 3 continuous oceans and numerous inland seas. It is a young world in a young system, and has the expected tectonic signature with active plate movements, groundquakes, high mountain ranges, and volcano activity. Additionally, there are several large craters scatted across the globe, an indicator of the amount of chaotic system debris here.
(Blank map, predominantly watery world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Primitive native life occupying a number of ecological niches. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
While temperate and fertile, the world is too young to have evolved indigenous fauna. All animal species have been transplanted.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Europa trades primarily with the Wovoka Arch systems, the Orient Worlds, and the Palermo Cluster. There is relatively little trade with the Grand United States, who are regarded as religious zealots. A brisk ongoing exchange exists between Europa and Wovoka in technologies. The government provides considerable and consistent support for technological advancement both domestically and via its own Technology Survey Corps.
The armaments corporation Defensus has its headquarters on the world. It is also home to a major regional office of ZeeCorp.
The head of state is the Dictat, an individual specially selected and trained for the role following a leadership-driven economic collapse a century ago. Since then, each Dictat has taken care to appoint a qualified successor who has appropriate motivations, which has resulted in a steady recovery in the economy and the technological base. The current political structures make considerable use of monitoring technologies to foresee political issues, and forestall or limit protests.
A significant percentage of the population follows the Church of Quesada. The Quesadan Inquisition has no authority on the world.
Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Solomani State and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, while many see it as an act of duty to help protect the the State and its interests.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Europa has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Europa has a population of 8,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
- Around 95% of the population (roughly 7.6 billion individuals) is made up of Solomani humans.
- About 3% of the population (approximately 250 million individuals) consists of Dolphins.
- Nearly 2% of the population (approximately 150 million individuals) consists of Aslan.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Delphinic Trinary, the principal language of Dolphins.
- Latin, an ancient Terran language used by the Church of Quesada.
- Quesadan Spanish, an Iberian Dialect of the Spanish subfamily of languages of Terran origin spoken principally in the Grand United States of Quesada.
- Rim Anglic, a dialect of Anglic and the principal language of the Confederation.
- Trokh, the principal language of the Aslan Hierate
- Minor Aslan Languages: note that some Aslan Clans retain obscure or archaic languages for personal use in addition to Trokh.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Europa possesses a Technology Level of TL–14 or TL-E in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early meson communicators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, early collectors, and advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-5.
World Government (G)[edit]
Europa is governed by a Non-charismatic Dictatorship. This is a continuation of the charismatic dictatorship, where the original leadership has died or retired and been replaced by allies or protégés. The justifications for the original change in government remain as well as the assertion of rights to rule.
World Military[edit]
Europa maintains several military branches: the Army, the Navy & Wet Marines, Coastforce, Skyforce, Spaceforce, and Starforce. These forces enjoy considerable and enthusiastic support from the Dictat and her government, and are often held up as paragons of society. It is notable that the Space and Starforces are relatively small, with the Starforce being essentially a scientific organization.
World Law (L)[edit]
Europa has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

- Resources: B (abundant)
