History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

High cargo capacity, low jump rating vessels move along the worlds of the Cluster, carrying huge amounts of goods and commodities to its varied markets. Jump-2 and Jump-3 feeder routes work their ways around the rifts and voids that dot the region, linking the Cluster to outlying worlds.

The cluster has no over-arching political structure, but has a distinct internal economy. High-tech goods from Firdausi enter the cluster by way of Mu'izzi and to a lesser extent Swelter, competing with items from Palermo in the premium marketplace. The majority of internal trade is by way of jump-1 ships plying between Palermo, Nova Prometheus, and Mu'izzi, with far lower volumes moving throughout the rest of the Cluster.

The Cluster's worlds are all independent members of the Solomani Confederation, overseen by the regional administration at Firdausi.

Solomani Security keeps a close eye on activities and events within the Cluster to ensure the security of the Confederation and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, but many see it as an act of duty to help protect the Solomani state and its interests.
