Palermo is a rich, nonindustrial world.

  • As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
  • This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
  • It has high-grade living conditions and life on this world is much admired by off-worlders.
  • It is a member of the Solomani Confederation in the Firdausi Subsector of Aldebaran Sector.

There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

Urbanization[edit]

Most cities are based around the Inevist Sea. They are connected by grav vehicle transit lanes.

The buildings of Palermo's cities are as self-contained as possible to prevent water loss. Standard construction is a cluster of towers with transitways running along structural members between them, rising from a common base containing the cluster's power, water and similar systems, as well as industrial areas.
