Description (Specifications)[edit]

The following astrographic and commercial data has been determined regarding Ionia Subsector:

Astrographic Features[edit]

The subsector is a generally unremarkable area of neutral space.

  • It is a low stellar density region.
  • The brightest star is the blue-white main sequence primary of the Gomeisa system.

Stellar Distribution[edit]

A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Ionia Subsector, right:

  • The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
  • The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.

Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.

  • Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
  • Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.

Rift Regions[edit]

Neworld Sector Rifts

The subsector lies between three large rift regions, the Delos Void, the Finger of Cythera, and the Oppenheimer Expanse.

The worlds of the subsector are patrolled by the Solomani Navy performing cross-border duties. It protects Confederation interests, suppresses piracy, and ensures interstellar trade and commerce.

World Listing[edit]

Comprehensive Second Survey data for all worlds that lie within Ionia Subsector is available.

Subsector Summary[edit]

Ionia, subsector N of Neworld, contains 16 worlds with an estimated combined population of 65 billion, a per capita income of Cr5,696, and a total economy of BCr370,837. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr596 through 10 starports (2 Class A, 2 Class B, 4 Class C, 2 Class D) employing 137,775 people. Driving this interstellar trade are no Agricultural (Ag) worlds, no Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, one Pre-Agricultural (Pa) world, no Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, one Rich (Ri) world, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Ionia maintain one Naval base and one Military base. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 3 and 11). The highest technology level is 13 at Cythera (Neworld 1137).

Ionia, subsector N of Neworld, contains 25 stars and 181 identified planets; nine monostellar systems, six binary systems, no trinary systems, and one system with four or more stars. 14 of the 16 systems (87%) have native gas giants. There are one Asteroid (As) belt, no Desert (De) worlds, two Garden (Ga) worlds, one Ice-capped (Ic) world, two Poor (Po) worlds, four Vacuum (Va) worlds, and one Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) world.

Ionia has an estimated population of 65 billion distributed across three High population (Hi) worlds, one Moderate population (Ph) world, two Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, seven Low population (Lo) worlds, and three Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Cythera (Neworld 1137) and Verill (Neworld 1637). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.

1 identified sophont population in Ionia

Non-Aligned, Human-dominated[edit]

There are 11 Non-Aligned Human-dominated worlds in Ionia with an estimated combined population of 35 billion.

Non-Aligned, unclaimed[edit]

There are three Non-Aligned unclaimed worlds in Ionia with an estimated combined population of less than 1 million.

Demos of Nobles[edit]

The Demos of Nobles has jurisdiction over two worlds with an estimated combined population of 30 billion, a per capita income of Cr5,871, and a total economy of BCr176,737. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr218 through 2 starports (2 Class A, 0 Class B, 0 Class C, 0 Class D) employing 83,080 people. The governments in the Demos of Nobles maintain one Naval base, and one Military base.

The Demos of Nobles has an estimated population of 30 billion distributed across one High population (Hi) world, one Moderate population (Ph) world, no Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, no Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Cythera (Neworld 1137). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.
