Aekhgal Subsector is a region that has seen millennia of settlement by both Humans and Vargr. During the Ziru Sirka the region had billions of Human inhabitants and its worlds were generally more technologically advanced.

  • The resources of the subsector are being exploited.
  • Many worlds have Ziru Sirka-era ruins and remains on their surfaces.

Astrographic Features & Trade Routes[edit]

The following astrographic and commercial data has been determined regarding Aekhgal Subsector:

Stellar Distribution[edit]

A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Aekhgal Subsector, right:

  • The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
  • The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.
  • The subsector contains an unusually high number of white main sequence stars.

Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.

  • Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
  • Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.

Rift Regions[edit]

The Windhorn Rift dominates the subsector.

Locally at least, a rift is an astrographic concept based on Jump Drive performance.

The Kanae-Figorurzaz Trade Run[edit]

The rimward-trailing worlds of the subsector lie on a small Main called the Kanae-Figorurzaz Trade Run. The Main has 28 member worlds.

The Vedhaaez Cluster[edit]

The rimward-trailing worlds of the subsector are members of the Vedhaaez Cluster, a trade route running between Corridor Sector, Vland Sector, and Windhorn Sector. It is a small Main.

  • It has 39 member systems.

World Listing[edit]

AAB library archives contain expanded data about the following systems:

Aekhgal Subsector originally formed the coreward border of the Ziru Sirka and saw settlement during the era, being under the dominion of the Naasirka bureaux. It was overrun by the Vargr during the Long Night and continues to be a Vargr-dominated region into the present day.

  • Humaniti (Human Races)
    • Mixed heritage, most commonly small but long settled communities, Travellers, traders, or captives held in bondage by the Vargr.

Subsector Timeline[edit]

Major events that have affected this subsector and the wider region that it lies within:

Subsector Summary[edit]

Aekhgal, subsector M of Windhorn, contains 18 worlds with an estimated combined population of 47 billion, a per capita income of Cr5,008, and a total economy of BCr235,929. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr172 through 10 starports (4 Class A, 2 Class B, 3 Class C, 1 Class D) employing 26,000 people. Driving this interstellar trade are six Agricultural (Ag) worlds, two Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, three Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, three Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, two Rich (Ri) worlds, and three Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Aekhgal maintain six Corsair bases and three Naval bases. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 4 and 10). The highest technology level is 12 at Vedhaaez (Windhorn 0740).

Aekhgal, subsector M of Windhorn, contains 27 stars and 209 identified planets; ten monostellar systems, seven binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 15 of the 18 systems (83%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, no Desert (De) worlds, three Garden (Ga) worlds, one Ice-capped (Ic) world, two Poor (Po) worlds, no Vacuum (Va) worlds, and no Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Aekhgal has an estimated population of 47 billion distributed across four High population (Hi) worlds, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, nine Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, no Low population (Lo) worlds, and one Barren (Ba) world. The highest population world is Vedhaaez (Windhorn 0740). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.

Ngath Confederation[edit]

The Ngath Confederation has jurisdiction over all of the worlds with an estimated combined population of 47 billion, a per capita income of Cr5,008, and a total economy of BCr235,929. The governments in the Ngath Confederation maintain six Corsair bases and three Naval bases within the subsector. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 4 and 10). The highest technology level is 12 at Vedhaaez (Windhorn 0740).

The Ngath Confederation has an estimated population of 47 billion within the subsector, distributed across four High population (Hi) worlds, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, nine Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, no Low population (Lo) worlds, and one Barren (Ba) world. The highest population world is Vedhaaez (Windhorn 0740). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.
