Voenggaks Subsector is a region that has seen millennia of settlement by both Humans and Vargr. During the Ziru Sirka the region had billions of Human inhabitants and its worlds were generally more technologically advanced.

  • The resources of the subsector are being exploited.
  • Many worlds have Ziru Sirka-era ruins and remains on their surfaces.

Astrographic Features & Trade Routes[edit]

The following astrographic and commercial data has been determined regarding Voenggaks Subsector:

  • The subsector is an average stellar density region.
  • There is no one significantly brighter star: the region contains many white main sequence stars of similar brightness.
  • The subsector lies on the edge of the Windhorn Rift.
  • The trailing end of the Kanae-Figorurzaz Trade Run, an important trade route, lies within the region.
  • The coreward end of the Vilani Main lies just within the subsector.

Stellar Distribution[edit]

A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Voenggaks Subsector, right:

  • The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
  • The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.

Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.

  • Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
  • Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.

Rifts and Voids[edit]

The subsector lies on the rimward edge of the Windhorn Rift.

  • The rift hinders travel and commerce within the region.
  • It has placed a boundary on settlement and expansion within the area.

A simple map showing the general extent of the Windhorn Rift, right:

The nature and limits of the rift may be determined by different criteria in different regions.

The Kanae-Figorurzaz Trade Run[edit]

The trailing worlds of the subsector lie on a small Main called the Kanae-Figorurzaz Trade Run. The Main has 28 member worlds.

A simple chart of the Trade Run is depicted, right:

  • Worlds lying on the Main are highlighted in tan.
  • Kanae is marked in red.
  • Figorurzaz is marked in orange.

The Vilani Main[edit]

The subsector marks the coreward end of the Vilani Main, the mighty trade artery of the Ziru Sirka.

  • High cargo capacity, low jump rating vessels moving along the Main, carrying vast amounts of goods and commodities between its member worlds.

A chart of the Main is depicted, right:

  • Worlds on the Main are highlighted in green.
  • Vland is marked in red.

World Listing[edit]

AAB library archives contain expanded data about the following systems:

  • The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.
  • Other sources may contain contradictory or incorrect information.
29 Worlds in the Voenggaks Subsector
Aegenokh  •  Aelgaloedzuen  •  Afoe  •  Aggedhlloez  •  Aghzorerroen  •  Erulgoengarrg  •  Foakhsigzikhs  •  Gaeroezesu  •  Knazoe  •  Knekueoul  •  Nuegorek  •  Okillodz  •  Okueallnurr  •  Orag  •  Rirzegh  •  Roerragh  •  Soeoukae  •  Soghzalghag  •  Sueighz  •  Sughaesouu  •  Thagvaguekhs  •  Thangaedh  •  Thoengoukhs  •  Thoeo  •  Vekodzraegh  •  Voeong  •  Vougdzodz  •  Zedzog  •  Zokfofaenkudh  •

Note that some Second Survey data, though only 40 years old, is likely to be out of date.

  • Data is occasionally updated as new information becomes available.
  • Scouting missions gathering reliable, verified data can receive substantial payment.
  • Verified updated data is constantly sought.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Voenggaks Subsector originally formed part of the Ziru Sirka and saw settlement during the era, being under the dominion of the Naasirka bureaux. It was overrun by the Vargr during the Long Night and continues to be a Vargr-dominated region into the present day.

Polity Listing[edit]

The following polities lie within the subsector:

Native Sophonts (NILs)[edit]

The following races (sophont species) are believed to have originated in this area:

  • Aezorgh of Soghzalghag. Clever and devious but physically small hexapods that are tolerated on most worlds rather than being seen as equals. They have long been dominated by the Vargr and are now widely dispersed throughout the rimward part of the Vargr Extents. The name translates most literally as vermin.

Demographics[edit]

Significant populations of the following races (sophont species) reside within this area:

Dhaen (left) and Aezorgh (right)
  • Humaniti (Human Races)
    • Mixed heritage, most commonly small but long settled communities, Travellers, traders, or captives held in bondage by the Vargr.
    • Solomani, primarily from long-established families.
    • Vilani, primarily from long-established (and often reclusive) families.

Subsector Timeline[edit]

Major events that have affected this subsector and the wider region that it lies within:

Subsector Summary[edit]

Voenggaks, subsector O of Windhorn, contains 29 worlds with an estimated combined population of 36 billion, a per capita income of Cr1,469, and a total economy of BCr54,077. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr52 through 23 starports (7 Class A, 6 Class B, 7 Class C, 3 Class D) employing 9,430 people. Driving this interstellar trade are three Agricultural (Ag) worlds, six Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, five Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, five Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, two Rich (Ri) worlds, and two Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Voenggaks maintain 13 Corsair bases and ten Naval bases. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 5 and 10). The highest technology level is 13 at Thoeo (Windhorn 2233).

Voenggaks, subsector O of Windhorn, contains 41 stars and 317 identified planets; 18 monostellar systems, ten binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 21 of the 29 systems (72%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, one Desert (De) world, four Garden (Ga) worlds, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, six Poor (Po) worlds, four Vacuum (Va) worlds, and one Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) world.

Voenggaks has an estimated population of 36 billion distributed across two High population (Hi) worlds, three Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 11 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, eight Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Soghzalghag (Windhorn 1732). The population consists primarily of 2 sophont groups.

2 identified sophont populations in Voenggaks

Ngath Confederation[edit]

The Ngath Confederation has jurisdiction over 16 worlds in the subsector with an estimated combined population of 36 billion, a per capita income of Cr1,441, and a total economy of BCr52,265. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr29 through 12 starports (2 Class A, 4 Class B, 4 Class C, 2 Class D) employing 3,600 people. Driving this interstellar trade are one Agricultural (Ag) world, five Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, three Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, four Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, no Rich (Ri) worlds, and two Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in the Ngath Confederation maintain ten Corsair bases and five Naval bases within the subsector. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 5 and 9). The highest technology level is 12 at Sughaesouu (Windhorn 1938).

The Ngath Confederation has an estimated population of 36 billion within the subsector, distributed across two High population (Hi) worlds, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, five Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, four Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Soghzalghag (Windhorn 1732). The population consists primarily of 2 sophont groups, including 1 native sophont.

17th Disjucture[edit]

The 17th Disjucture has jurisdiction over 13 worlds in the subsector with an estimated combined population of 540 million, a per capita income of Cr3,355, and a total economy of BCr1,812. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr23 through 11 starports (5 Class A, 2 Class B, 3 Class C, 1 Class D) employing 5,830 people. Driving this interstellar trade are two Agricultural (Ag) worlds, one Non-Agricultural (Na) world, two Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, one Pre-Industrial (Pi) world, two Rich (Ri) worlds, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in the 17th Disjucture maintain five Naval bases and three Corsair bases within the subsector. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 4 and 10). The highest technology level is 13 at Thoeo (Windhorn 2233).

The 17th Disjucture has an estimated population of 540 million within the subsector, distributed across no High population (Hi) worlds, one Moderate population (Ph) world, six Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, four Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Aegenokh (Windhorn 2336). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.
