Khtaoh Subsector is Subsector M of Canopus Sector.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)

The following astrographic and commercial data has been determined regarding Khtaoh Subsector:

Astrographic Features[edit]

The subsector is a generally unremarkable region of Balkanized Space on the rimward border of the Solomani Confederation.

  • It is an average stellar density region.
  • The brightest star is the blue-white main sequence primary of the Teloi' system.

Stellar Distribution[edit]

A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Khtaoh Subsector, right:

  • The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
  • The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.

Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.

  • Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
  • Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.

Security & Defense[edit]

The worlds of the sector are patrolled by the Solomani Navy. It defends Confederation territory, protects Confederation interests, suppresses piracy, and ensures interstellar trade and commerce.

Trade Routes[edit]

Canopus Sector Clusters

High cargo capacity, low jump rating vessels move along the clusters and traces of the subsector, carrying vast amounts of goods and commodities between their member worlds. Jump-2 and Jump-3 feeder routes work their ways around the rifts and voids that dot the region, linking the various clusters and traces.

Clusters & Traces[edit]

World Listing[edit]

Comprehensive Second Survey data for all worlds that lie within Khtaoh Subsector is available.

  • The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.
  • Other sources may differ: some elements of the data may be contradictory or incorrect.
  • Data is occasionally updated as new information becomes available.

AAB library archives contain expanded data about the following systems:

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Solomani State and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Aslan are uniformly less likely to be cooperative with Solomani interests, but almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, while others can be manipulated or coerced.

Subsector Summary[edit]

Khtaoh, subsector M of Canopus, contains 28 worlds with an estimated combined population of 14 billion, a per capita income of Cr5,653, and a total economy of BCr84,467. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr196 through 21 starports (6 Class A, 7 Class B, 4 Class C, 4 Class D) employing 65,640 people. Driving this interstellar trade are three Agricultural (Ag) worlds, six Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, one Pre-Agricultural (Pa) world, four Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, no Rich (Ri) worlds, and three Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Khtaoh maintain four Naval bases. The average technology level is 10 (with most between 8 and 12). The highest technology level is 13 at Teloi' (Canopus 0633), Auric (Canopus 0639), Oiyuil (Canopus 0733), Aekhar (Canopus 0734), Yuhtalikel (Canopus 0739), and Yulreale (Canopus 0832).

Khtaoh, subsector M of Canopus, contains 34 stars and 270 identified planets; 22 monostellar systems, six binary systems, no trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 27 of the 28 systems (96%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, two Desert (De) worlds, one Garden (Ga) world, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, three Poor (Po) worlds, six Vacuum (Va) worlds, and three Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Khtaoh has an estimated population of 14 billion distributed across three High population (Hi) worlds, three Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 16 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, four Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Oiyuil (Canopus 0733), Hliy'oieaer (Canopus 0236), and Kaihkahe (Canopus 0431). The population consists primarily of 2 sophont groups.

Non-Aligned, Aslan-dominated[edit]

There are 25 Non-Aligned Aslan-dominated worlds in Khtaoh with an estimated combined population of 14 billion.

Non-Aligned, Human-dominated[edit]

There are two Non-Aligned Human-dominated worlds in Khtaoh with an estimated combined population of 11 million.

Oleaiy'fte[edit]

The Oleaiy'fte has jurisdiction over one world in the subsector with an estimated population of less than 1 million, a per capita income of Cr0, and a total economy of BCr0. Driving this economy are one Agricultural (Ag) world, no Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, no Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, no Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, no Rich (Ri) worlds, and no Industrial (In) worlds.
