• A fluid world has an oceanic geography consisting of heavily contaminated water or a substance such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquid.
• Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants.
• It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
• It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by Aslan sophonts located in the Khtaoh Subsector of Canopus Sector.

• This is a cold world with an overall climate that is at the lower temperature range of human-congruous sophont endurance.
• A Prison World, exile camp, or prison camp for criminals or other exiles is located upon this world in addition to other points of interest.

Teloi' is a Big World between 13,600km and 15,200km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1G and 1.3G. The horizon will appear about 5.4km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)

Teloi' has an Exotic Atmosphere and possesses an unusual gas mix which requires the use of oxygen tanks. Additionally, protective suits, while not necessary, are recommended. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

• It experiences low temperatures.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)

Teloi' has 15-25% of its surface covered by water-ice heavily tainted with other substances, which makes it dangerous, corrosive, or toxic. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds may be Hell Worlds.

• The water on the surface may be unsuitable for use or consumption without extensive filtering and purification.
• Refining for fuel may cause issues with shipboard purification plants.

History & Background (Dossier)

Teloi' is a member of the Yulreale Cluster, a cluster and trade route lying within the spinward-rimward part of Canopus Sector. The cluster is divided between large Aslan and Solomani human populations.

It is a prison world holding dangerous Aslan criminals, committed to the facility by the rulings of an earleatrais. It has Aslan staff and management but the guards are exclusively human.

• The prison has a dark reputation and both the facility and the region around it should be considered a red zone for travel purposes.

Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Solomani State and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Aslan are uniformly less likely to be cooperative with Solomani interests, but almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, while others can be manipulated or coerced.

World Starport (St)

Teloi' has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

• This world is host to an independent Aslan Naval Base.

Teloi' has a population of 5,000,000 sophonts (millions).

• This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
• About 95% of the population (approximately 4.75 million individuals) consists of Aslan.
  • The population of Aslan prisoners exceeds 150,000.
• Around 5% of the population (roughly 250,000 individuals) is made up of humans.

Urbanization

Aslan architecture tends towards rounded forms and shapes. Structures typically feature large open spaces, concealed chambers, balconies, hidden passageways, and hideaways. Artistry is favored over efficiency in design – every Aslan building is different.

• Even in mass-produced housing, residents will strive to make their territory uniquely theirs.

The most commonly heard languages are:

• Rim Anglic, a dialect of Anglic and the principal language of the Solomani Confederation.
• Trokh, the principal language of the Aslan Hierate

Teloi' is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy, and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. This ruling bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucractic apparatus or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence, like the military.

• Note that this is a human interpretation of the feudal-based local Aslan government.

World Law (L)

Teloi' has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

Aslan Law

Criminal acts are rare but not unheard of in Aslan society. Crimes are different from the insults or slurs that provoke duels, and are classified into three categories: crimes of passion, crimes with victims, and crimes of honour.

• Crimes of passion involve misbehavior prompted by temper, anger, or provocation. The accused is judged by the head of the family, pride, or clan involved.
• Crimes with victims involve taking money or items of value, or violating the person of another for profit (kidnapping, terrorism, piracy). General practice is to have an impartial earleatrais consider the case and present findings.
• Crimes of honour involve failure to observe the rituals established for social behaviour. Judgement is made by the pride or clan head, depending on the severity of the crime. Crimes of honour are the most serious in Aslan society; in practice, most are never tried, as a duel to the death occurs first.
