Home is a high-population, pre-rich garden world with a billion or more sophonts in population size, and a near-ideal utopian environment conducive to most sophonts, but still lacks adequate population to expand its economy to a rich status.
- Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
- It is a member of the Solomani Confederation in the Aldebaran Subsector of Aldebaran Sector.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
- This world is also the overall capital of an interstellar government with the massive extra trade and prestige associated with that role.
- This world has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships.
- This world has a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]

- It is a yellow main sequence named Dril.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x7 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 planetoid belts.
- x1 gas giant.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Home is 12,422 kilometers in diameter and has a standard atmosphere.
- It has no natural satellites.
It orbits in the prime region of Dril's habitable zone.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Home is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.
- Home has an axial tilt of 12°. Its seasons are less severe than those of Terra.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Home has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.
- Slight differences in geography and physical data give Home a lower albedo than Terra (about 0.285 compared to Terra's 0.300), which means that Home absorbs somewhat more energy than does Terra.
- Even though Home is slightly farther from its star, its average temperature is a moderate 18°C.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Home has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
Sixty percent of the world's surface is covered by water, dividing the surface into three major continents, one large subcontinental landmass, and many large islands and archipelagos. Approximately one tenth of Home's surface is covered by icecaps.
(Blank map, predominantly watery world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Home is a high population garden world and the capital of the Solomani Confederation.
It is the headquarters of Solomani Maschinenbau AG, a large corporation involved in the manufacture of starships and military equipment for the Confederation.
With the end of the Solomani Rim War in 1002, the Confederation's former capital Terra (Solomani Rim 1827) was occupied by Imperial forces and the Solomani were forced to establish a new capital approximately 30 parsecs to rimward. Home was selected for its close proximity to Terra physically, for the similarities between its star and Sol, and for its distance from the Imperial border.
- Prior to becoming the Confederation capital, Home's history was uneventful. Small Sancaterrist farming communities dotted the world, many of which still exist in Home's scenic outback.
Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Confederation and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, but many see it as an act of duty to help protect the Solomani state and its interests.
Point of Interest: First City Highport[edit]
The Secretariat meets in gargantuan chambers in Home's First City. Home's hive-like orbital highport, Resolution (popularly known as Wolfe's Rock), was carved from a planetoid that was positioned in orbit. Resolution houses the secure chambers of the Solomani High Council as well as the Ivan Wolfe Naval Base, the adjacent Albadawi Naval Academy, and a large Confederation Marine garrison.
- Resolution orbits every 25 hours, as it rests higher than the geosynchronous altitude. Thus, it progresses visibly each day as viewed from the surface.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Home has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- This world is host to a Confederation Naval Base.
- This world is host to a major Military Base.
World Population (P)[edit]
Home has a population of 1,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
- The population almost entirely consists of Solomani humans.
Urbanization[edit]
Most urban centers have been designed and built from the ground up (and down) using TL–14 techniques, materials, and design patterns. Each structure is intended to last for thousands of years and be both interesting and unique.
Smaller cities and towns are built to capture the look-and-feel of specific areas of Old Earth.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Rim Anglic, a dialect of Anglic and the principal language of the Confederation.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Home possesses a Technology Level of TL–14 or TL-E in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early meson communicators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, early collectors, and advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-5.
World Government (G)[edit]
Home is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.
World Law (L)[edit]
Home has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors).
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: 4 (important)
World Economy[edit]
Home has a fully-developed world economy with a full-spread of industries.
- Resources: A (abundant)
- Labor: 8 (hundreds of millions)
- Infrastructure: 8 (generally available)
- Efficiency: +3 (improved)
World Culture[edit]
Home is the standard for the Terran culture in exile.
On the surface, there are many states and sub-states that maintain officially recognized bastions of Terran culture.
- Heterogenity: D (fragmented)
- Acceptance: D (very xenophilic)
- Strangeness: 1 (very typical)
- Symbols: E (extremely abstract)
