Gakghang Sector, also known as Ianshaplzdier Sector, is located coreward of the spinward Vargr Extents. It is at the fringe of Charted Space, and by some measures beyond its boundaries.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
While the Vargr Extents and the Zhodani Consulate have made informal claims to this sector by naming it, neither polity is actually present. Until 1104, Charted Space incorrectly believed this sector to be uninhabited.
Gakghang is home to the minor human race, the Pirians. Aside from their homeworld of Piriga, the sector was barren until shortly after the Pirians were given jump drive by the Yaskoydri Technocracy in -2001. Since then they have spread through the sector, aided by immigrants from all four sides.
Toponyms: 1105[edit]
This sector has been known by different names to different groups over its existence including the following:
| Gakghang Sector Names | ||
|---|---|---|
| Culture | Toponym | Polity |
| Third Imperium | Gakghang | Third Imperium |
| Aslan | Ianshaplzdier | Aslan Hierate |
| Droyne | Gakghang | Droyne Oytrip Yatroy |
| Hiver | Ianshaplzdier | Hive Federation |
| K'kree | Unknown | Two Thousand Worlds |
| Solomani | Gakghang | Solomani Confederation |
| Vargr | Gakghang | Vargr Extents |
| Vilani | Gakghang | Third Imperium |
| Zhodani | Ianshaplzdier | Zhodani Consulate |
- Gakghang Sector, as it is known in the Vargr Extents, is known as Ianshaplzdier Sector in the Zhodani Consulate.
- The sector is closer to the Extents than to the Consulate, so the Imperial Interstellar Scout Service uses the Vargr name. (That there is a significant Vargr population in the sector, even if not part of the recognised Vargr Extents, compared to no Zhodani population in the sector helped cement their decision.)

Territorial Overview: 1105[edit]
The following table details the subsectors within this area:
Territorial Overview Subsector Name Worlds / Systems
Dominant Allegiance Remarks Subsector A Spike 16 Spike Society This area is the sole protrusion into Charted Space of the Spike Society. Subsector B Corain 20 Federation of the Fused Mains This area is the coreward half of the Federation of the Fused Mains. Subsector C Thessue 13 Federation of the Fused Mains The Federation of the Fused Mains extends into this area enough to dominate it, but most of the worlds are independent. Subsector D Rho 18 Rho Cluster This is the primary location of the Rho Cluster, though the Corsair Lyceum is struggling to make inroads. - The worlds Aye Sye Fye and Smo Pou Mou, critical to the Spike-Rho Route, should be considered active war zones and navigated around if possible.
Subsector E Foggrub 16 Pirian Domain This area is primarily under Pirian Domain influence, and is claimed to keep the Tijian Khaganate from expanding into this sector. Subsector F Rimain 24 Federation of the Fused Mains This area is the rimward half of the Federation of the Fused Mains, though the Pirian Domain claims some worlds here too. Subsector G Factorium 15 Corsair Lyceum This area is the main line of battle between the Pirian Domain and the Corsair Lyceum. Subsector H Lyceal 18 Corsair Lyceum This is the heart of the Corsair Lyceum. Subsector I Tides 21 Pirian Domain This is a core Pirian Domain area. Subsector J Piriga 21 Pirian Domain This area includes the Pirian homeworld. It is the origin of the Pirian Domain. Subsector K Skyfarm 13 Non-Aligned Although both the Pirian Domain and the Corsair Lyceum claim worlds in this area, Skyfarm dominates this location. The Pirian Domain is engaged in efforts to recruit Skyfarm and thus control this subsector. Subsector L Ottoto 14 Non-Aligned Aside from the Corsair Lyceum's two claimed but uninhabited worlds, none of the worlds in this area are interested in being part of an interstellar polity. Subsector M Varu 21 Pirian Domain This is the rimward extent of the Pirian Domain. There is a high concentration of Vargr since it was from here that the Vargr Love Bombing originated. Subsector N Maka 17 Pirian Domain This is the a Pirian Domain frontier area. Subsector O Jools 16 Pirian Domain The Pirian Domain controls the only inhabited world in this area. Subsector P Nulls 11 Barren Worlds Nobody lives here. The Pirian Domain and Solomani Preserve make sure of it.
