Epu Varu is a poor desert world with no free-standing water.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
- This world-system has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships, which may be located on or off-world.
- It is a member of the Pirian Domain in the Varu Subsector of Gakghang Sector.
In standard Anglic, this world would be named "Epic Varu", but for the inhabitants it is even more so for the name. Epu Varu has long been a center of culture and arts, having been founded as a world to host those aspects of Vargr Extents culture deemed worthy of keeping, from colonies swept up in the Vargr Love Bombing. Poets, technologists, and artists of nearly all stripes have been welcome here, to the point that when the Empress Wave passed by, some residents of what neighboring worlds were still populated quipped that they noticed no difference. Then again, a great number of residents who abandoned neighboring worlds planned to go crazy and live on this world; while reality was much harsher than imagined and a number of them died, a notable number survived, with mild enough consequences that the effective technology level remained quite high. The population was majority Vargr before the Empress Wave and remains so afterward.
With the best shipyards and factories in the subsector, industry has flocked to Epu Varu - though it has mostly been confined to off-world installations, while artistic endeavors are mostly on-world. It is said that if you wish to get a rich bank account, stick to the asteroid belts, but when you wish to get a rich soul, come on down the gravity well.

Epu Varu has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Epu Varu has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

Epu Varu is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.

Epu Varu has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved.
