Elysee (Al 2328) is an industrial, high-population hellworld with a billion or more sophonts, who struggle in an inhospitable environment.
- Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes even hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants. Survivors often form intense survival skills and tend to be grim realists.
- As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
- It is a part of the Third Reformed French Confederate Republic, a member state of the Solomani Confederation, located in the Star Bridge Subsector of Aldebaran Sector.

Mainworld Data[edit]
The Elysee main world is designated a Hellworld.
While Elysee falls towards the middle of the primary star's habitable zone, it has a atmosphere which over 10% carbon dioxide, 80% nitrogen, and 10% oxygen. This mix has led to a recent runaway planetary warming effect which has overridden all natural buffers. Currently, the equatorial temperatures average 60 C, and polar temperatures average 15 C with the averages climbing. The original climate was warm but manageable when this world was recontacted; rapid implementation of advanced technologies and the construction of vast chained arcologies has allowed the extremely large population to remain "inside" with a fair amount of comfort. Advanced fusion plants powering both the society and carbon capture driven by the current World President For Life, Adam Martinette, is starting to slow the temperature rise.
As is, the northern polar ocean is becoming more acidic, which affects the aquaculture industry. Many regions that hold mineral resources or viable farmland now exceed wet-bulb temperatures for humans.
Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]
Elysee has a mid-sized polar ocean, and scattered lakes as one proceeds south.

World Starport[edit]
Elysee has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Technology Level[edit]
Elysee possesses a Technology Level of TL–14 or TL-E in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early meson communicators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, early collectors, and advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-5.
World Government[edit]
Elysee is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are young governments, coming as a recent change and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.
World Law Level[edit]
Elysee has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).
World Military[edit]
Elysee maintains a handful of advanced System Defense Boats (SDB) that are Jump capable. The President has expansively boasted that he will "lay the keel" of the first Elyseen destroyer "soon".
In the meantime, Elysee depends on the frequent port-calls of Republic capital ships to reassure the population and unsettle potential pirates.
World Economy[edit]
Elysee is a large world with a plethora of resources, manufactories, farm lands, aquaculture bases, and the many elements of a mature service economy. It is also leveraging its huge population by investing in a new education blitz to retrain entire segments to become effective teachers, technicians, engineers, and scientists. Robotics and AI are again much lauded programs, despite the fears of many of the older generations. Robotics are particularly needed as more of the planetary resources fall into areas above the human wet-bulb temperature or otherwise are no longer feasibly accessible to humans.
The main Elysee Downport is at the 75 latitude and is an amazing example of architectural design, automation, and efficiency. A counter-example is the now abandoned open-air downport that was originally situated at the equator, with its once-famed heavy-launch facilities. The 20 world-cities (800 million+ each) each have a dedicated Downport/Gravport to facilitate travel, with the remaining large cities having high-capacity industrial and light gravtrain systems to the nearest Downport.
On the upside, the President has declared a new War-on-Space, and is encouraging industries that will allow additional expansion into orbital habitats and on the many alternative worlds within the Elyseen systems. He has expansively targeted the "Worlds of Elysee II" for rapid colonization.

Urbanization[edit]
Newer cities, constructed of hyper-advanced, connected arcologies are located on the retreating shores of the polar ocean. The older cities are located along the dried lakes and riverbeds that are now used as grav routes, and typically have a ring of outer arcologies around a dead core of older, uninhabitable buildings.
